The Vanisher Extraordinaire: A Look into the Unseen Powers of Agnes DeMille
Agnes' abilities have not always been present especially in her first few years of life. One would have mistaken her for being a Normie child had she not started to literally phase in and out of sight as if she was a hallucination in the corner of her parents' eyes. Her parents, Vanishers themselves, were not over the assumption that their child's abilities would manifest one day, and so it did when Agnes reached the age of seven albeit unconsciously for the girl as she groggily attended for breakfast one weekend morning.
It was typical for invisibility to manifest prior to reaching adolescence, thus indicating normal development for Agnes in terms of being a Vanisher.
The control of her power did not come smoothly; it took multiple attempts to consciously become completely invisible. Agnes' first instance at disappearing completely was, ironically, out of an instinctive, startled jump from dropping and shattering a plate. Ever since then, attempted to hone her skills further.
Triggering invisibility made use of significant psychological effort and felt like being masked by a cool, smooth, skin-clinging garment. It was a gradual, back-and-forth process; learning abilities took the fledgling Vanisher a great amount of trial and error. She first channelled her focus onto her hands until it was akin to donning and doffing gloves, then to her arm until it felt like wearing sleeves, repeating the process with various levels of success with her other areas of her body. Half a year would pass until Agnes became proficient enough to utilize her power on the rest of her being until all that served as a sign of her presence was a strange collection of floating clothes.
On the topic of using her Vanisher power to involve items not part of her body such as garments and other small things, turning them invisible required a constant physical contact. Agnes needed to use an additional amount of psychic energy to maintain the invisibility of external elements and prevent either them or herself from flickering like a dying lightbulb.
Likewise, if the psychic connection is disturbed by an external force such as being attacked (ex. Zapped by Fester's lightning) or suddenly coming in contact with external interference (ex. Grabbed or taken hold of), Agnes' instantly flicks back to sight. A rattled psyche prevents her from immediately disappearing again or maintaining an extended period of invisibility.
