I ABSOLUTELY FORGOT THAT CHLOE JUST FUCKING NOPED OUT OF BEING AKUMATIZED

How can anyone say Chloe was never supposed to be redeemed, when she did this? I’m not saying she’s perfect or anything, especially not now, but! Really, you’re going to tell me that the girl who resisted the promise of all the power she wanted because she refused to side with a villain under any circumstances, was never meant to try and become a better person?

Chloe deserves a proper redemption arc in season 7. If Félix can be redeemed off-screen by dating Kagami, Chloe should be too. Hell, it could be made really interesting, because she no longer has the incentive of being a hero, since Vesperia isn’t gonna give her the Miraculous back.

For the record: it’s not Marinette’s fault for handling this badly. She’s a 14-year-old who’s dealing with her bully, and it shouldn’t be her duty to help Chloe be less shitty. It would be cool if she was less hypocritical and didn’t continue to give out Miraculous to the other holders whose identities were revealed in Miracle Queen, but in that scenario, she was a lot more strapped for heropower since that was her entire existing team and not only a third of it.

Marinette is doing her best with a lot of shitty scenarios.

And the first scene is as efficient as ever.

Like did you notice how, when they run to the rooftop, Sabrina trips and falls to the ground but Chloé's attention is only driven on lighting her Bee Signal and waiting for Ladybug? She is so blinded by being a superhero, be part of the big action, that she is ignoring what is happening right beside her.

And it kinda reflects on what Ladybug is doing.

Ladybug is so focused on the big picture (saving Paris, deal with the Akumatized and Sentimonster, calculating the risks), that she is putting aside the human aspect. She hasn't taken the time to tell Chloé about her decision. It is Chat Noir who has to remind LB that she has to tell Chloé about it because Chloé is not figuring it out by herself.

CN is not telling Ladybug that she is wrong for refusing to involve Chloé as a Miraculous Holder anymore (her reasoning is sound and with Mayura lurking around Chloé to ambush Ladybug, we know that yes, the risk is very real), but to keep Chloé waiting forever and for nothing is only hurting her.

And the episode also highlighted another important aspect : Chloé only would listen to Ladybug. Ladybug was the only person of authority that Chloé respected and accepted to abide too. And after that episode, that trust was now broken.

Even if Ladybug didn't kept her waiting, Chloé would still have grieved. Chloé would still be living in denial about the truth. Chloé kept hoping that Ladybug would need her again to prove that she isn't replaceable.

But she was only disappointed. To the point to even wonder what is the point to even make a minimal effort? There is no reward for her at the end. There'll never be one. Unless she takes matters into her hands.
