i have nostalgia towards my source, but it comes with a very large portion of “thank fuck I’m out of there.”
do i want to sit with my back against the Tree and rest while the dappled shade makes pretty patterns on the grass? of course! do i want to sit side by side with my brother and read together, or play tag, or stare up at the stars? yes!!
…do i want to deal with being ostracized, isolated, harassed, and used as a scapegoat by the village for years on end? absolutely not. even if i was given a chance to go back, i never would. it’s better if that place stays dead.
if i went back, even knowing what i know now, history would repeat itself.

i just watched an hour-long video about undertale aus and the au community
and pretty much every single major au was there except for mine
the person making the video said they had to cut out some aus for time management and i get that
but it just. stings, y’know? All my friends were there and i was even mentioned once, but other than that, nothing.
no hate on the creator ofc, just. I kinda feel like i was just left out of something that everyone else got to be included in, and it doesn’t feel particularly good.

i have fictionkin friends from the same sources, and when i tell them i miss people i feel like they dont get what i mean
I talked in a group about missing the other star sanses, and several members were like "im an ink kin" or "im dream"
And as much as i DO love those people and see them as my closest friends like we did then, its just not the same.
Its not even that we dont chare a canon, we protected the multiverse ffs in used to the idea of alternate versions, its that we arent out fighting nightmare or exploring aus or tending to each others injuries after battles.
I know im talking to them, but we'll never have that kind of friendship again, and thats what i miss. Whats what i mean when i say i miss my sourcemates
