Marine Corps Boot camp: Humble beginnings, well I didn't have a say in that shit anyway. It was what it was. The hyperbolic time chamber for Devil Pups, and boy did I get fucked up. I went in with the mindset to keep my head down and mouth shut which ironically is exactly what they tell you to do while boarding the iconic bus headed to MCRD San Diego. Fast fwd: Day 2 of receiving Drill Instructor Sgt Brown was discarding potential Guides left and right for reasons I didn't know until after leaving the Depo. Too quiet, too slow, too nice, too stoic, and too fuckin dumb. We sat at medical with our shirts over our heads waiting to get a handful of shots including the damn peanut butter shot while Sgt Brown was looking for a Guide. I should've knew some bullshit was up because he told us to raise our hand if we wanted to be Guide. Of course I thought shit was cool because I damn sure wasn't going to raise my fuckin hand for that shit, but as time went on I realised I didn't have a fuckin choice. This MF was standing right over me staring through the top of my fucking skull. I should've let the stare kill me. Burn right through my brain, but mama didn't raise no bitch and I could tell what he wanted. I raised my hand to accept this shitty promotion and as soon as I did this MF said and I quote "TIGHT." I knew I was in for some BullmotherfuckinshiT! Contolled chaos, little did I know he saw the leader in me when I didn't know I carried one at all.
The Devil you see before you is LCpl H. The so called Super Guide who hated every ounce of his responsibilities until the Heavy Hat pulled the guidon from his grip. A feeling that stabbed at me until I replaced it with more responsibility.

Today marks 19 years from raising my right hand and joining the Air Force. It has been an amazing journey and I’m grateful to my young self for joining by intuition. I recall first meeting my fellow ROTC brethren, instantly I felt connected by the sense of service and camaraderie. When I entered the @issue force /military I knew I found my tribe because I met the most remarkable people all over the world.
