dude the sexism in my film production class is HILARIOUS. it still shocks me how often it happens. so i was talking with this guy and another girl in my class and in walks another dude and starts up a conversation with us. soon enough he starts only addressing the other guy and asking him about what films heโs watched and if he has experience in production/editing (fyi iโm probably the person with the most experience with editing programmes in that class - not that heโll ever find out lol).ย
immediately after that we are told to start testing camera equipment and experimenting with it a bit. yet AGAIN, this dude walks up to our little trio and asks for help with his task, i good-naturedly offer and this guy straight up looks baffled and saysย โuh... not youโ and points to the other guy instead. me and the other girl are pretty much speechless at this point and just exchange a โwtfโ look. seminars are pretty much the same shit with all these guys circle jerking and trying to show how much they know - and pretty much looking kinda stunned when i speak up.
who the hell am i? what do i do?
