ty for the ask!! i couldn’t decide how silly to be but i landed on pretty silly. i am sorta thinking about this as like… what people would have said when they were in school, nit necessarily what the other crewmembers would say

mal: most likely to steal a spaceship. not buy! steal.

zoe: most likely to Be Right. just, like, about all of it

wash: most likely to come closest in their class to getting kicked out of flight school without actually getting kicked out

jayne: most likely to start a brawl he makes everyone else’s problem and leave before its over

inara: most likely to have just, like, so many candles. the best collection ever.

shepherd book: depends on the point in his life but for our purposes… most likely to just randomly have new skills you didn’t know he had but go off king??

simon: most likely to have a panic attack in the process of succeeding, which he will also do. probably.

river: most likely to stay the most cryptic shit ever. 50/50 chance on whether it’s wise/relevant or not.

I don't think Mel has any one thing she does with the boys. Whatever she happens to be doing when Ingo or Emmet want to come hang out, they also end up doing that too. I like to think she took them down to the shop on occasion, Emmet especially, growing up.

I think hanging out in the kitchen with her is another common thing. Nico probably does more of the cooking since Mel's the one who works, but she'll do the dishes and bake stuff sometimes. Then one of the boys will come help or just yap at the table about whatever.

Nico will still drag Emmet out to fish if he thinks he needs to get out of the house, like in Day at the Lake. Emmet doesn't dislike fishing per say, he just thinks there's better things to do with his time. But sometimes he just wants to spend time with his dad, so he'll tag along. I think he'll usually bring something else to do (big fan of Emmet crochets) and just chill on the dock while Nico fishes. Very parallel play type vibes and they're both chill with this, both being men od few words.

My sort of unspoken background rule with writing Mel and Nico has been Mel's a bit more like Ingo and Nico's a bit more like Emmet. Meaning Ingo tends to gravitate to Nico and Emmet to Mel. Obviously, they have their differences, but it helps with characterization since I can't fall back on source material for a refresher with them lmao

I've never been tickled irl so I can't speak on that HOWEVER when someone is teasing me like through messages... oh goodness. I go back and reread the messages so much that the tingles just don't go away 🫣 but you didn't hear that from me
