A good ol' shoving a horse bit into Whumpee's mouth and pulling them, walking them around on a leash, riding them etc.
Some bit ideas that are swimming around in my head:
Living weapon is being tested, the results of the tests only aiming to satisfy the scientists' curiosity and offer information for future--Projects.
One of the tests, consists of putting Living weapon into an otherwise empty room, with a bit or a cord of some sort hanging from the ceiling. The goal is to see how long they can last hanging from their teeth on it. There are ways to force them to do that, of course.
Tying a Whumpee's arms behind their back and leading them around with lead rope and a bit/bridle.
Conditioned Whumpee who's used to wearing it, fidgeting around with the bit roller.
(Love it for my centaur whumpees <3)
Tight bits used as a gag.
Whumpee having scars, or healed scar tissue from wearing a bit for too long.
Missing teeth or having teeth be eroded/ destroyed where the bit used to sit.
After rescue, even after recovery, whumpee absentmindedly puts pencils in their mouth to simulate the feeling of a bit.

"I can be a kind and benevolent ruler," Whumper said as they circled their captives. "I think you will find I am a much better ruler than your former monarch."
Caretaker hated listening to this. Hated that they were all in chains while Whumper and their traitorous band walked free. But worst of all, they hated watching Whumpee struggle in the chains that had been thrown on all of them.
"The only thing you are capable of is evil," Whumpee hissed.
"You could give me a chance, Whumpee. If you give me a chance, if you bow, the others will follow suit. So many subjects have already pledged their loyalty."
"I'd rather die." Whumpee thrust their chin out.
"Whumpee, you were your former ruler's most trusted warrior. If you bend knee, needless violence will be avoided. Surrender and pledge fealty or you shall suffer greatly." Whumper's kind, gentle tone began to fray. Their true nature slowly eating away at the facade that Caretaker knew they were putting up.
"Death first!"
"That can be arranged." Whumper said with a sigh. "Tie them to the pole in front of the castle," they ordered one of their minions. "And take the others with you. I want everyone to see what happens when you do not conform to my law and order. What happens if you defy me."
Whumpee struggled valiantly against the many hands that grabbed them. Caretaker tried on their part, too. But it was to no avail. Whumper had too many followers at hand to fight. The rest of their squad was hauled along with them to the castle square.
"Whumpee, Whumpee, whatever they are planning is far worse than surrendering," Caretaker tried to reason with Whumpee. They could not stand to watch Whumper butcher Whumpee.
Whumpee shook their head, drawing themself up to their full height, head held proud. "If we give in we are complacent with whatever atrocities Whumper commits. The people need to see that some one is willing to stand up in the face of evil."
"You will be killed, Whumpee. Please," Caretaker tried again.
"Then that is the price I pay. I will not bend knee to evil. I will stand strong. Perhaps my death will be what one person needs to realize they must fight. That they can fight."
Caretaker opened their mouth to reply, but Whumpee was pulled away as the group reached the central square. A tall post had been erected in the center atop a tall dais. Whumpee was hauled roughly up the steps and chained with their arms above their head, back to the crowd.
"Citizens, gather round," Whumper said as they climbed the steps of the dais, "and see what it means to refuse me." Whumper held a whip in their hand. Caretaker's mouth went dry.
"I am a benevolent ruler," Whumper said as a hush fell over the crowd, "and I will give you one more chance, Whumpee. Swear fealty and you will be spared."
"I will never bow to you. No matter how much you hurt me, I will never bow before you." Whumpee spat at Whumper, their contempt and intentions clear.
"So be it, then. We will start with ten lashes and see how you feel." Whumper raised their arm and brought the whip down across Whumpee's back. Whumpee's skin split and flowed from the wound.
But they did not cry out.
With each crack of the whip, Caretaker flinched. With each crack of the whip the fearful faces of the crowd became more apparent. And with each crack of the whip, Whumpee's blood flowed, but they did not cry out.
After the tenth crack, Whumper stopped. "Anything you wish to say, Whumpee?"
"Fuck you," Whumpee said weakly.
With a growl, Whumper raised the whip again. "Such insolence shall not be tolerated."
Caretaker lost count of how many times Whumper brought the whip down. They lost count of how long Whumper whipped Whumpee after Whumpee went limp in the chains as they slipped into unconsciousness. They lost count of how many times they begged for Whumpee's life. Because they could only see Whumpee's limp, bloody body slumped over at the whipping post.
"Throw them in the dungeon with the rest of their squad. Offer them no aid. See if that's enough to change their mind," Whumper said when they finally grew tired of whipping Whumpee.
Caretaker didn't fight as they were dragged to the castle's dungeon. They watched in horror as two men grabbed Whumpee by the arms and roughly dragged them along to the dungeon. Whumpee didn't so much as groan or raise their head as they were dragged along.
"Whumpee, please, say something," Caretaker said as they were all tossed in the dungeon.
Whumpee had landed in a heap and hadn't made a sound. "Whumpee, please," Caretaker tried again. They weren't sure where they could touch Whumpee without causing further injury. They lowered themself to the ground next to Whumpee.
Whumpee's eyes were closed, but they were alive. Caretaker could hear their short, pained breaths as they got close to Whumpee. "Someone bring me some water from that bucket." Caretaker ordered. "We need to clean their wounds."
Whumpee didn't wake the whole time the squad cleaned and dressed their wounds. They didn't wake as the squad tried to lay them in a comfortable position gently. And they didn't wake as Caretaker stroked their face and murmured soft words to them.
Caretaker sat in the dark dungeon hoping Whumpee would wake soon. They stroked Whumpee's sweat soaked hair. "Please, Whumpee. Don't do this. Please, just wake up. We can come up with a plan. Please, Whumpee. Don't make us watch you die, too."
how did Sweden treat you whilst you werw taken hostage? who freed you and how did that go? (Ikr it happened more than once, but you can choose one, or both)
Rather well. I consider the Deluge to be worse considering I had the image of my husband's corpse branded into my mind.
In the Prussian Campaign of 1626-1629, I had resisted capture. I remember that the soldiers acted cruelly. Unnecessarily so perhaps. I don't think that is out of the ordinary. I was beaten, tied and led to Oxenstierna himself. I don't think he commented on my capture. He hasn't commented on my appearence, he hasn't said much except for commands.
I was brought to a cabin in the ship. Although my wrists were chained, I was treated less like a prisoner and more like a guest. If you ignore the manacles of course. It didn't change throughout the journey. The ship's crew mostly ignored my presence. Oxenstierna visited frequently. I don't think he tried to gather information. I don't know much about the Polish war strategies and Brandenburg refuses to let me participate in anything that challenges his authority. He isn't very successful.
I believe however that he may have simply thought of me as interesting. Whether that is because of my appearence or because I was the first Protestant land is debatable. Probably both.
During the Swedish Deluge (1655-1660) things changed only a little. The initial capture was perhaps more violent and humiliating. I was unpleased to see Sweden roll over Ducal Prussia to say the least.
You need to understand how I spent my days sitting by Johann's bedside in the hospital, holding his ice cold hand and praying to God - in chapel and in hospital - for his recovery.
I had spent hours, staring at his destroyed body, watching blood leak through bandages, injuries tearing open and his breath growing so faint, there has been moments I considered him dead.
I needed to sew him back together and while Bavaria owns fault to a few of his injuries â the majority is Sweden's fault.
He has pushed him past life. I don't know how he survived. He didn't know me. I had to recount every memory. Read him my diaries and push him in a wheelchair around castle gardens because of the Swedish invasion.
He was barely able to walk by the time Sweden came for me instead.
I trust you understand when I say I was terrified. I thought I would die. I had my head smashed against the wall, my shoulder dislocated and upon trying to run, I was shot. I was mortified. Would I be killed? Would I be tortured? Will worse happen?
I had been treated for my injuries and placed in a cabin but I was terrified. Oxenstierna still visited but I didn't want to see him.
He tried to convince me to betray Brandenburg, tried to receive leverage against Poland.
I would scream at him to leave and he obeys. But he didn't come back either.
It was dreadfully lonely.
It took months, years, until I saw Johann again. I wish he would always come with an army on sleighs to save me.
Unfortunately that was also the only time Johann managed to save me heroically. He allied with Sweden until he got me back and immediately hunted the Sweden north.

This was one of my earliest ficlets/chapters, and admittedly was posted back when I was not entirely convinced that this would be a complete series. As a result, looking back, I genuinely wish that I would have done more with itâbut I also know that I hit all of the major points.
âCaughtâ does several things at once; it brings to light more of Wheeljackâs biological differences, it helps TFA Ratchet to realize that Wheeljackâs war is still fresh in his mind, it gives TFA Ratchet more of an idea of where Wheeljack is coming from, and it addresses the fact that Wheeljack had a trend in TFP of being captured and always having to save himselfâand that Wheeljackâs talent for escape-artistry indicates that there might be a precedent there. He also confides in TFA Ratchet about his times having been captured, andâfor the first timeâconfesses to someone that he has undergone the cortical psychic patch.
Lockdown brings up a lot of bad memories for Wheeljack of his time being captured, dragging TFA Optimus onto his ship and attacking with electricity. He also takes trophies, and we know that Wheeljack is aware of Airachnidâs actions during the war. This is a very sensitive topic for him, which is one of the reasons why he fights back so fiercely when TFA Optimus is taken prisoner by the Decepticon bounty-hunter and has so much sympathy for TFA Ratchet.
I was talking to @echoblaze5 when it occurred to me that Wheeljack may actually have a stronger tolerance to electricity than your average TFP Cybertronian.
Starscream brags about the prods he uses in interrogation to drive poor Fowler to begging and delirium could make TFP Optimus, a literal demigod, buckleâand we see that happen, as Knockout easily brings the Prime down with a similar piece of hardware.
But Wheeljack?
Wheeljack withstands it.
âCon Jobâ, âDarkest HourââWheeljack was taken captive by the Decepticons, and no one came after him. TFP Bulkhead and Miko even sat on a grassy hillside at the start of S3, waiting to see if he was âstill kickingâ. Of course, Bulkhead had Miko to protectâbut itâs still messed-up that he couldâve been sitting there until the Iron Will showed-up while Wheeljack was tortured or even executed up in Darkmount.
âLoose CannonsââTFP Optimus comes to dig Wheeljack out of the rubble Dreadwing left him in and even admits that heâs mostly mad because Wheeljack got Bulkhead involved, that he would have just let Wheeljack do fuck-all if he hadnât dragged one of the Primeâs team along. We see this again in âHurtâ, where Optimus says that he didnât think anyone could stop Wheeljack from going after Hardshell âeven if we wanted toâ; heâs perfectly content to just let Wheeljack run off to chase after the guy that just brought down one of his best, and no one is upset until they learn that Miko tagged along for the hunt.
In a bizarre act of callousness by the writers towards a character they seem to love based on how cool they always make him out to be, thereâs an oddly casual attitude amongst the members of Team Prime towards Wheeljackâs wellbeing and overall safety. TFP Ratchet is stubborn and tries to intervene when Wheeljack is hurt at first, like in âLoose Cannonsâ and âTriageâ, but these open attempts are gone after âHurtâ and the white Wrecker can âstay rogueâ.
We know Wheeljack must be tended to since there are repairs done to his chest-plate and his internal systems following his time at Darkmount, and heâs fixed-up following âEvolutionââbut itâs never seen on-screen again.
TFP Bulkhead tries to run from Wheeljack to save him from the bomb in âLoose Cannonsâ. TFP Ratchet comes to find Wheeljack after the fight in âTriageâ and offers him medical assistance, but then doesnât argue when Wheeljack refuses to submit to medical attention. Miko kills Hardshell in âHurtâ to save Wheeljack. Ultra Magnus looks to Wheeljack before going for the Forge one last time in âEvolutionâ, indicating that he was going to do what he could for him.
These are the rare instances in the show when someone goes out of their way to help Wheeljack in TFPâand this would make sense if Wheeljack was actually as rogue as the cast acts like he is, something TFP Arcee actually points out. The white Wrecker keeps his distance because he has serious trust issues when it comes to the chain of command, but heâs always there when he is called upon and even when heâs not.
He deals with Makeshift, dedicates himself to the task of locating wandering refugees, tries to take out Dreadwing (a known Autobot hunter), tries to warn TFP Bulkhead of Dreadwingâs trap and then goes after him immediately when he learns that the other Wrecker has been captured, stays to disarm the bomb at the risk of himself, chases after TFP Bulkhead and nearly gets pushed into the water, stays beside TFP Bulkhead and TFP Optimus to die, returns when asked to protect TFP Ratchet and hunt the Relic, shoots down Laserbeak, lands one of the few solid hits we ever see Soundwave take, strong-arms Megatron into sending out Hardshell by blasting a mine, does all he can to protect Miko when he realizes that taking the Insecticon out might get him killed, returns to base immediately to save Fowler and buy the team time after time, does not give them up under torture and the cortical psychic patch when he actually does have something to give and he loses enough Energon for an entire vial to be squeegeed up, puts himself at risk to distract Predaking before Miko and Bulkhead can be hurt during the first attack, protects Miko however he can when he brings her along because he sees her both as a kid and as an equal, helps to save June and Fowler, tries to make amends with Ultra Magnus through his actions after TFP Arcee calls him on his shit, defends Magnus to TFP Ratchet while protecting the commander on his trial mission, helps Raf to build Chip and is very gentle with that kid, flies TFP Optimus across the universe to retrieve the Allspark and is actually The Braincell on that mission, and manages to not die after being targeted by Unicron.
Wheeljack hauls ass for Team Prime. The way he is spoken of is a stark contrast to how truly reliable he is as a combatant and as a friend.
Sure, the guy screws upâhe is impulsive and stubborn, he is constantly crashing his ship and getting captured, he leads TFP Bulkhead into a trap, he puts Miko at risk by bringing her along even though he tries to keep her as safe as he can, and the lob-ball and the grenade make their unfortunate bounces when S3 decides to make Wheeljack work on Looney Tunes-physics.
But every character in the show makes their own massive mistakes, behaving carelessly or even cruelly at timesâsometimes putting human lives at direct risk. TFP Ratchet is a notable offender; he adores the kids by the showâs end, but he at first couldnât have cared less about them. He even brought Raf onto the Nemesis to face a possessed TFP Bumblebee after the smallest argument ever, brought him into the same room as Megatronâand he gets off while Wheeljack is criticized for bringing Miko along after she tells him she will withhold information unless she gets to come, only to lock her in the ship at the last minute with a failsafe so that she will never actually come face-to-face with Hardshell.
The incident with the lob-ball was an accident; Wheeljack could have taken more accountability, but there was no ill-will intended. He would never hurt Miko, heâs never been a threat to any humanâunlike Smokescreen, the rookie who risked the âBotsâ security while actually knowing that they were trying to remain a secret for a grudge against a random driver and some kid Jack had beef with before bringing Jack out into the field. Or maybe TFP Arcee, who kept Miko out in the field despite knowing the risk because of a growing grudge against Juneâor TFP Bee, who agreed to help Jack with his illegal racing and totally trashed a MECH outpost. How about TFP Ratchet again, who was convinced by some shrugs and mild arguing to send humans onto the sentient Nemesis before they even had a plan to save the other âBots and stop the warship and also threw Raf while he was high as a kite?
What about when TFP Bulkhead physically threatened Fowler and was even willing to just leave him to be tormented by the Decepticons?
Or when TFP Optimus willingly handed over the Key to Vector Sigma to a seventeen year-old and accidentally crushed Silasâs bones/organs?
Honestly, TFP Ultra Magnus should be the only one of these losers trusted with humans. He is a bit confused at first, but he catches on quick and actually does all he can to protect Miko.
Wheeljack is treated ridiculously harshly by the show and the rest of the castâand in âCaughtâ, I begin to imply how much heâs noticed. Heâs previously admitted to the TFA Cast that, as a Wrecker, he was disposableâbut this is where he starts to give TFA Ratchet solid context, and even admit that he was treated as disposable even by the people he desperately wants to get back to. This begins the shaping of his relationship with TFA Ratchet for the rest of the series, as the field-tech grows increasingly worried about Wheeljack and honestly wonders if he should go home.
By âChoosing to Learn From Past Mistakesâ, TFA Ratchet is fully registering Wheeljack as one of his kids and tries to point out that how things were back in TFP were not okay. For the rest of the series, he tries to impress on Wheeljack that he didnât deserve what happened to himâwhat Cybertronians on either side of his war threw at himâand tries to encourage him towards a path of moving forward with a healthier mindset and even the understanding that he can step away from situations that are not right or safe for him.
âCaughtâ gives TFA Ratchet his first opportunity to say âthings are different here, weâre different, you can trust usâ. He tells Wheeljack that he is valued just as much as any other member of the team, that he can count on them to be there for himâand from that, Wheeljack takes a chance and opens up to TFA Ratchet about something he never shared back in TFP: what Shockwave did.
It also gives more context as to what was going through Wheeljackâs head: he was so determined to go after TFA Optimus when he was captured because he always is, because no one does it for him, and because a part of him didnât know if he could count on anyone else to do it in this reality flipped on its head. But then, it was Optimus Primeâa different Optimus Prime, sure, but still an Optimus Primeâwhile he was and always will be just a Wheeljack: Wrecker, rogue, expendable.
TFA Ratchet gets to say âto Hell with thatââand he spends the rest of this series watching over Wheeljack, because someone has to and he canât even trust the kid to look after himself with that kind of talk. He doesnât just let it continue, he goes out of his way to break the cycleâfinally, concretely succeeding in âFace to Faceâ by protecting the Wrecker and taking Shockwave down when the âCon tries to go after Wheeljack.
Itâs a wonderful if tragic little arc that starts here.

Although the air was warm, his muscles froze, transformed to sheets of brittle, unyielding ice. His bones to nothing more than frigid, motionless pillars. Useless for fleeing. Useless for finding escape.
There was no escape.
Like a herd of wild beasts, the enemy surrounded him. How they'd found himâwhat they knewâwhat they wantedâhe could only guess.
He turned slowly, loath to meet their eyes.
As he accepted what would happen next.
As he raised his hands, empty of weapons, in trembling, unwilling, inevitable surrender.
Hereâs an AU Iâve been working on!! For right now, the important part is that Grian and Jimmy are brothers and tiny canary hybrids. Only a few inches tall. Theyâve lived in the wilderness their whole lives, only hearing the horror stories of tiny hybrids getting taken by humans and never returning. That was until a human came across Jimmy while he was gathering berries.
Please, Iâd love if anyone has any questions or comments!! Reblogs are very much appreciated, and my ask box is always open.
Image ID under the cut.
[Image ID: A ten panel comic.
In the first panel, Grian and Jimmy, two tiny canary hybrids, are carrying berries. Jimmy is further back from the other, and he looks very tired. Jimmy says, âCan we be done yet? Iâm tired.â Grian responds, âI know, I know. But we should get a few more to be safe.â
The second panel is Jimmy from the waist up. He is sighing and rolling his eyes as he says, âFine! Iâll go get it!â Although Grian canât be seen in this panel, thereâs a text box for him saying âThank you!!â
The third panel has Jimmy stretching his arm as far as he can, trying to grab some berries from off their branch. He is thinking, âAlmost⌠got itâŚâ
The fourth panel is a close up on Grian when he hears noises. He hears rustling and a thud. Grian looks confused and concerned.
The fifth panel is still close up on Grian as a look of pure horror comes across his face as he sees whatâs making the noise.
The sixth panel is what Grian sees, a human covered in shadow, reaching down to snatch Jimmy.
The seventh panel is Jimmy, unaware of the human even as its shadow covers him, still trying to grab that berry.
The eighth panel is when the human grabs and squeeze Jimmy. He screams and struggles to no avail.
The ninth panel is Grian hiding from the human behind a leaf, watching as they take his brother away.
The tenth panel is of the human who captured Jimmy holding a box. Jimmy is implied to be in the box, although he is not visible. They stand next to another human and tell them, âGot one for âya. Caught and boxed.â The other human asks, âAny more around here?â The first human responds, âNot that I saw.â
You cursed when you hit the bars of the cage. It fucking hurt and you were certain that it was your ribs that produced that concerning crack, the ache radiating from them seconding your opinion.
Your captors slammed the door shut in your face, taking with it the last little light that was available. The pitch black darkness wasnât a comfort, capable of hiding untold horrors. You took a second to curl up in pain, reaching for the Force to release your pain into, the first step you needed to take to start to plan your escape. Instead of finding the gentle waves of the Force, you slammed into a metaphorical wall, your physical body spasming in another round of pain.
Fuck.
Of course the bastards would have a way to block your access to the Force. That was just your luck. On your own, in the middle of exactly nowhere, with no allies nearby, and now with no access to either your lightsaber or the Force. What a perfect way to end the day.
It was an unknown time later that you finally managed to pull yourself together. You slowly straightened yourself out on the floor of your cell, carefully as you could. Thankfully, the cell had looked like it was made for a species bigger than you so you had the option to stretch out and relax. The headache youâd gotten from reaching for the Force still pounded in your veins and your ribs throbbed in sync with your heartbeat.
It was a task, to think through your options, made only easier because there were so few of them.
The Council had sent your company and you on a secret mission, and had instructed you to head off on your own halfway through it to search for a suspected Sith artifact. They had gotten reports from some Jedi Shadows that had been moving through the area that all agreed on the signs of some sort of Sith artifact brewing trouble. The 737th were the closest full company that was battle ready so youâd been deployed.
Your troops would handle the chaos that had sprung up in the midst of the artifact and you would split from them to find the actual item.
You had estimated it would only take you a week or two to gather the item after you had narrowed down the search for it and you had just commed your commander Ace. That meant even your own company wouldnât be expecting you for a couple of more weeks and the Council wouldnât be expecting you to report in for months, the communication arrays unreliable in the area.
For now, you were alone, in pain, weaponless, and stuck in a cage.
