I would love a Lake Lachrymose IV if you’ve got the time and energy!
Hello, Anon! Absolutely! I planned four parts out, so you are all good! This is the final part. Please enjoy!
Warnings: referenced captivity, referenced torture, referenced drowning, bruises, restraints, hurt/aftermath, hurt/recovery
"Remember, we can leave at any time," Caretaker said as they sat down next to Whumpee at the table in the private visitation room at the jail Whumper was being held at. "I don't need any information from them if it's going to hurt you."
Whumpee nodded, jumping as the door swung open. "I told you, I've nothing to say to you, Careta--" Whumper's nasal drawl came as they walked in, freezing as they saw Whumpee.
"Hello, Whumper," Whumpee said flatly.
"I want to leave," Whumper said to the guard. They turned to try and leave.
"You have to answer their questions first. Before they leave." The guard stood in front of the door.
"Sit, Whumper," Whumpee gestured at the seat across from them. "We have a lot to talk about."
Whumper sat down slowly, their eyes narrowing. "This is a trap."
"You're in custody. We've got you for the murders of ten people, Whumper. You're not getting out of this. You confessed. How could this possibly be a trap?" Caretaker rolled their eyes. The absolute gall of Whumper.
"Are there others?" Whumpee asked quietly.
"Just the eleven of us, then."
"I didn't murder you, you don't get to count yourself as one of mine."
"You did murder me. Four times. You drowned me! You brought me back to drown me again! You beat me until I passed out. You broke my bones. You ruined my life! I get to count myself as one of them. But we don't belong to you!" Whumpee raged at Whumper.
"Why what?" Whumper sneered.
"Why did you take them? Was it because I wasn't satisfying you anymore? Was it because I wanted free? Was it because I rejected you? Was it because you couldn't kill me?"
Whumper didn't respond. They merely glowered at Whumpee.
Whumpee nodded. "That's what I thought. You're nothing but a pathetic waste of air. You're pitiful." Whumpee turned to Caretaker. "There aren't any others. Whumper did what they did to me to the others. I can tell you all about it. You don't need them."
"You can take them away," Caretaker said to the guard, "thanks."
"I am not finished!" Whumper growled as the guard grabbed their arm roughly.
"Oh, but I am. You didn't kill me. You didn't break me. You made me stronger. And I'm going to live. Live well and live long. Not just for me. Not just for the others. But just to spite you. You failed to destroy me. We're done here."
Whumpee stood up suddenly and left the room. Caretaker followed quickly at their heels. "Are you ok?"
Whumpee nodded as they began to cry. "Fine. A little fucked up from all of this. But fine." They sighed. "I needed that for closure."
"Did you mean everything you said in there? About Whumper."
"Yes. They did all of this because I wasn't their perfect partner. And they tried to shape the others to be what I wasn't. But they could never get rid of me. I'm just sorry that so many had to suffer because of me."
"Because of Whumper. Not because of you. Never because of you."
