Sometimes I have a lot of sympathy for truetrans/truscum people.
They've been told that there's only one way to be trans by cisgender people so many times that they've started self-policing. When someone comes around who complicates this, cis people have taught them to lash out because they had to fight for medical transition. Instead of using newer social justice phrases like "check your privilege" though, they accuse people of not being trans at all. Not wanting/needing to medically transition and not having dysphoria is certainly a huge privilege. The erasure from the community may hurt, but dysphoria can be a traumatizing and awful part of existence. At the same time, it's not necessary to be trans and never was. I wish there were better ways of getting through to these folks about how yes, people without dysphoria should recognize that it so a privilege not to feel like parts/configurations of your body don't belong, but also recognize that their genders are still valid.

2.Have you been to any festivals?

id love to see brand new again tbh.. also mcr (LMAO) and ptv and the maine
thank u !!!
What if truscum were the REAL transtrenders?
Truscum need tofucking stop harrassing trans people fucking goddammit. I'd rather have people wonder if they are trans, call themselves trans and maybe find out they are actually cis later than to chase out trans people from being trans. All truscum are disgusting. Truscum are a betrayel to the trans community. You all should feel bad about yourselvs.

And before I get trutrans and other such responses: I have gender dysphoria, I have phantom genitals, I fit the “transsexual” mold*. I’ve felt this way for as long as I can remember (since I was 3); long before tumblr, the Internet, or even before I knew what being trans was. I still support trans people without dysphoria. I stand by them because only they know what is right for them, and it’s shitty to deny someone bodily autonomy whenever they aren’t doing anything to hurt you.
*I’m undiagnosed mostly b/c I don’t have insurance or money to pay for a psychiatrist and I’m also terrified of doctors. I’m also undiagnosed for an anxiety disorder and suicidal tendencies, and I can tell you those are very, very real for me too.
This is my first Instagram video and it couldn't be of a better performance. Thank you Laura Jane Grace for an amazing night. #laurajanegrace #trutrans (at Brighton Music Hall)
