This video reminds me of a powerful lesson I learned hearing Devita Davison speak here in Tasmania. She DID NOT codeswitch. It was such a powerful moment. She had everyone captivated, taught more than a few lessons, and was beautifully black and powerful as she did it. You could feel the mightiness of the Pulpit and the mantle of Academia. It was honestly the most impactful and important example of Truth to Power I'd ever seen. Her eloquence was permission to bring my Ancestors in every room I was in, no matter how I got myself in there. She also displayed such regal confidence through her diction I knew Honey Child must weild to build legacy. I've never held in a Y'all since.
