I decided I'm going to take my Deconstructing the Gender Trinary idea and combine it with a concept I came up with called trinarism. I'll be covering trinaries and why we need to pull our focus away from them and see that there's more than three of these things - man/woman/nonbinary, masc/fem/neutral (and by extension, transmasc/transneutral/transfem, and maybe something like binary/nonbinary/abinary.

It might make for a good discussion. Maybe the key talking points will be used for a video and the overall topic will be expanded for an essay. I'll see.

Travigender Flag

Note this is only avaiable to Latinx/Latine folx.

Travigender: a genderness tied to one's travestigender conformance and/or supremacy while inherently subversive.

The word is based on traviarcado (transviarchy), as it's casually used as a way of empowerment simultaneously as it's used within non-binary community to designate the gender trinarism enforced in some circles of travestigênere people.

Disclaimer: something to be proudful (but not prideful) while circumstantially problematic as it's reinforced introduction to normative views of gender ('atriarchy).

I love that I got blocked by that person who was so adamant about supporting and enforcing a gender trinary. Exorsexists have no place in my circles.

I recently saw your posts about how the label Atrinary is problematic. I was identifying as the Atrinary because most of my genders aren't male, masculine, female, feminine, androgynous, or neutral. I'm currently looking for a new label, I identified as Abinary in the past, but I've become uncomfortable with using labels that include neutrality. I'm currently trying out Outherine and Ouiaspec, but I became so connected to the label Atrinary that it's hasn't felt right not using it.

I don't know if you could give me any advice or suggest any labels?

Outherinity can include a lot of specific genders, so it might help to take a look at some of those. Maverique, ilyagender, and péra are included as well as a handful of others (such as genders resulting from combining qualities together or genders that are outherine but also aligned with certain qualities.)

I have this blog post on Fandom all about the intricacies of the outherine identity and there's also this Google slideshow from theoutherlings with some outherine genders they had coined.

Forever torn between the need to archive important terms and the need to avoid trinarism as I do so. I wish this concept would die out already. Gender trinary, atrinary, midtrinary. Throw it out.

People think this is a legitimate system of legally recognized genders, latch onto the concept by adding more related terms to it, and self-identify with them to the point where they can claim it's bigotry to tell them to rethink their choices.
