Oh my days I just argued with my dad over dog whistling and how it was actually a big deal when he joked about it and then said "Oh but you can't do that anymore you'll get arrested for it cuz it's not woke". And I actually got very mad and made very good arguments for how accepting small things made people not care about big things. However I kind of lost my cool when both my mum and dad interrupted me so I yelled at them to stop and listen to meand they didnt like that... But, then I made another good argument for how them interrupted me was disrespectful and stuff. THEN when we got home he started talking about that he just didnt agree with me and made it almost seem like my claims were these insane mega woke things and how I should agree to disagree LIKE WHAT?! IM JUST TRYING TO MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE IM COMING FROM.

But then I made a comment about that and how I was done with the conversation because I couldn't make them listen more than they wanted to and walked away.

Buuuut, because I wanted to show how accepting dogwhistling could lead to rape (like he claimed wasn't the case) I showed him the pyramid of hate which is a good thing to know about in arguments and then he walked away whilst I was talking to put some stuff away so I called him out on how if he didnt want to hear what I was saying he could've just said that and then—like he often does—he "apologised for all his sins and all the bad things he does", so I told him that I just wanted him to not be rude and walk away even if it was just to put some stuff away because I'm not in his brain and if I would've done that he would've gotten mad and I think we should be held to around the same level of standards and then he apologised for real so I'm contempt with how it all went down.

I do however think that he didn't get really mad with me when I yelled at them is because most of the time I'm pretty calm and I don't do that many things wrong and I help around the house and not just go around hating them all the time. So thats good otherwise I would have genuinely crashed out and started crying. AND I DIDNT START CRYING PRAISE THE LOOOORD HALLELUJAH

If I may say so myself I think I was pretty cool

(P.S. My dad isn't a misogynistic pig, he's just a whitish middle aged man who got a good education and a good job so he's the kind of guy one uses in all examples of privileged people who no bad thing ever happens to and who have it super easy. Therefore I understand why he might feel like every woke person is against him and that to the world he's very stereotyped into one specific group of all the bad guys ever. So his "bad" experience with (the extreme side of-)woke people, combined with the fact that he isn't and never will be a teenage girl who is exposed to creepy old men who make them wary of all men make it understandable that he doesn't see dogwhistling like this extremely uncomfortable, scary, creepy disgusting thing that should be illegal because it opens up the floodgates to more and more sexual harassment.
