what does it mean to have a gender presentation/expression, especially for those whose gender identities lie outside the traditional binary like xenogenders, aporagenders, maverine genders, etc.?
I can understand how one might present masculine, feminine, androgynous, or neutral, but how would one present xenic? How can I have a maverine gender presentation?
I don't really have the funds to change my wardrobe, and even if I did I think that by the nature of my maverine gender, I don't think anyone would know I'm presenting maverine except me
It's definitely going to be highly personalized and cultural, as with any kind of presentation. It depends on the context of how your gender fits in with society around you. Some people have a specific presentation because it helps them blend in, while others have one because it subverts expectations. Some people like to experiment and say "Well this is what everyone around me looks like, but let me play around with something else instead."
Things like xenogender or maverique or anything outside of traditional binary experiences don't really have a specific "look", which would fall under societal expectations. Masculinity and femininity, in comparison, tend to have a specific look depending on one's culture and those usually come with expectations and conventions, so it's a little easier to express in those ways by finding a certain aesthetic (and by extension, androgyny tends to be a little easier to figure out because it's a mix of the two.)
I'd say maverique, aporagender, xenogender, etc. presentation is something you figure out for yourself. What feels maverique to you? What outfit might help you express xenity in your own way? What kinds of choices feel aporine on a personal level? (Honestly, xenogender feels easy because if one's gender is based on a specific aesthetic, animal, or emotion, then choosing some colors and accessories based on those would help someone present in a distinctly xenogender way.)
But yeah. It's going to be different depending on who you ask. There tends to be a billion things that exist outside of binarity, so the possibilities are pretty much endless.
