Being marginalized doesn't prevent you from being bigoted.

Oppression olympics is built on ableism, queerphobia, and racism.

Having a disability doesn't prevent you from being ableist.

Being queer does not stop you from being queerphobic.

Being intersex does not stop you from being intersexist.

Being trans does not stop you from being transphobic.

Being a person of color does not stop you from being racist.

Having friends/family in a specific demographic does not prevent you from being biased against that demographic. Even if they haven't told you overtly that you are.

Honestly, all should be obvious just from the fact that internalized versions of all these isms exist.

I have been ableist against myself sometimes. I am intersexist and varsexist and exorsexist and homophobic against myself at times. I have probably been racist against myself.

like i cant believe i just had to read a “trans!connor” fic and then see in the comments that people got wet over that. the fuck???

and this counts for every fandom and a lot of other things too.

as a trans guy it makes me really fucking uncomfortable to see so much misrepresentation in fics - ESPECIALLY NSFW FICS.

and god if you really feel the urge to write about trans characters then DO YOUR RESEARCH. Its not that hard. theres enough trans people who are willing to help you out with this stuff if you’re a cis writer.

and for the love of god dont write comments like “damn that was so hot 🥵” under these fics. gender/body dysphoria is real and it’s anything but hot.

made a poster for class, and thought id share it here!

Just a reminder for anybody wearing a binder to remember to bind safely! Be sure to , stretch, take some deep breaths, and be sure to let your body rest in between binding.

As someone who binds, I actually try to avoid it when I can, because it really restricts my ability to breathe, and it makes me lightheaded after awhile. The longest time anybody should be binding is 4-ish hours. I used to go for upwards of 8, if I had work or school, which was a VERY BAD habit. Do NOT be like me haha and take breaks in between. 30 mins to an hour should be enough time for your body to relax and rest, but do what feels right for you.

IF YOU HAVE A TRANSGENDER FRIEND:

• Respect their chosen name

• Respect their pronouns

• Do NOT tell other people that they're trans unless you have their express permission. Being trans doesn't define them, it's just another part of who they are

• DO NOT use their old name! This can be incredibly triggering for some people, especially if you do it in front of others!

• If you slip up with name/pronouns, just quickly correct yourself and move on, don't make a production out of it

• If you're complimenting their clothing, it's best to not point out how femme/masculine they look, it might not have the positive effect you were going for. Just stick to "you look great today!" Or something

• If you aren't sure about something concerning your trans friend, ask them!! We're happy to answer all your questions! But make sure to ask them in private.
