Okay sorry I legit cried at this and I rarely cry ever

I have been binging Gintama videos on Youtube, and I came across this: https://youtu.be/h4zI5NiIEw8

"Pride Kakumei" by CHiCo with HoneyWorks is opening 15 of Gintama. It is an amazing song on its own! But the utaite A24 (who sounds suspiciously like Kazuya Nakai hmmm) covered it from Hijikata's perspective when the Shinsengumi was going under.

THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING.

I watched it side by side with the original HoneyWorks video, and it is flawless. The emotion behind it is tangible, the sorrow and resolve in Toushi's voice at the same time proves just how amazing of a character he is.

I have never really analyzed music before, but this cover legit made me cry. Toushi's family is in Kondo, Okita, and the rest of the Shinsengumi. He would die for them. I know this cover isn't technically canon, but it should be. It is totally in character, and A24 sounds exactly like Nakai.

Toushi has been climbing to the top of my fave list very rapidly lately. He will never be able to surpass Gintoki, but he could replace Katsura as my second favorite. I love the mayonnaise-loving, demon vice commander of the Shinsengumi. 😭
