Rewatching Stargate and all I want is more Tok’ra! I wish we had gotten to see more about them as individuals and as a culture. I wish we had seen them collaborate more with SG-1, and have the teams run across them on missions more.

Love how Stargate SG-1 basically said ‘the aliens appropriated local myth because they simply aren’t as creative’
Like
It’s a whole thing how the Goa’uld are parasites that steal all ‘their’ technology but the show took it a step further and said they also steal stories and culture from the folks they subjugate and
Idk it just feels like a whole commentary about colonization and cultural appropriation that I’m not smart enough to really articulate
Then you have the Tok’Ra who keep saying they aren’t parasites they’re symbiotes but I’m pretty sure that like only a small percent of their stuff was actually an original Tok’Ra device??? And even if I’m wrong there they have a very obnoxious superiority complex
The Asgard obviously aren’t as bad but they still said ‘um yeah we’re totally you’re gods! We have to say that because you’re so primitive and would never understand the concept of aliens and cultures in other places :)’ then in that one episode, I think her name was Arianwen, she ends up being like ‘woah my god is actually a weird grey guy from another world but whatever lol he’s still dope and super helpful :)’ so like that whole thing of pretending to be gods was so clearly unnecessary, and, ughhhhhh,,,,, I’m just having emotions
do you know of a label for someone who has two orientations simultaneously that conflict because they're a host and a symbiote with different orientations sharing the same body? i know there are like system specific orientations but idk if they'd apply here because this is specifically about fictional characters like for trill (star trek) or tokra (stargate) lol
This sounds so specific I don't think it has an identity yet. I know duo- for having two orientations.
So was Jolinar a queen or was she trans by goa’uld/tok’ra standards?
Why are the Tok'Ra High Council seats so dang pointy?
That's just so unsettling.

I feel I'm gonna get hate for this but...
The Tok'ra are basically off-brand Trill
Two village women carrying Tokra on their heads-Punjab (India)
If water is representative of The Tauri, Tokra and Asgard they must look at soap as representative of the Replicators.
Also, I love Stargate, but seriously, it is a show about how the Gods of Africa are evil and the Gods of Europe are good. The one black man on the show literally abandons the gods of Africa to follow the gods of Europe.
