This could be based on literally anything, including just vibes. But ideas could come from mythology (gods and spirits and heroes and monsters from different cultures). Or history (figures who famously studied or thought about or worked with deep space, black holes, etc.). Or media (many different stories, games, and movies have characters, classes, and species who are connected with darkness, etc.). Or simple word association derivatives (for example, "shadow" could lead to "obscuration" which could give Obs, Scura, Scurat, Obcurt, Osurti, etc.).

made these, inspired by a couple art trends, if you guys don't see it I drew the layer things and tools and stuff. I'm not sure if this is a cool idea but I decided to sketch this out and it has a lot of thought put into the details of these. I wasn't sure whether I liked the solid red or the PNG so I just added both.

also update: I already made a post about this but I moved it to private so that doesn't count. my hand is broken! I karate chopped a piece of wood and broke my hand so uhhh safe to say work on art and stuff will be delayed, not to mention family drama and a genuine full on mental breakdown and the fact that there's a chance that I may lose function in my arms from a separate issue as well.
