THUNDERCATS ASK GAME! :D
(but mine focuses on ROAR ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
1. How old were you when you became a Thundercats fan? (and/or) How long have you been in the fandom?
It all started in 2020 when Roar came out. I was 13 at the time; it was my first encounter with the franchise, and I had no idea it was already the third installment. At first, I wasn't interested, but after watching a few episodes, I became practically obsessed and fell in love with it wholeheartedly 💖
Later, when I discovered the earlier versions, I was very, VERY disappointed, especially with the 2011 version. It was too serious and dark for me, and the main reason I dislike it so much is TyChee, but I’ll get to that in another question.
As for the 80s original, I started watching it to gather more information for creating my own Roar continuation, but I’m finding it really hard to watch—mainly because of the monotonous vocal delivery and facial expressions of the characters. So far, I’ve made it to "Lion-O's Anointment: First Day" episode.
2.Who is your favorite Thundercat?
Ugh... that’s a pretty tough question. I’m torn between Lion-O and Tygra:
-I identify quite strongly with Lion-o cause, just like him, I don’t act my age—especially considering that Roar didn't feature the cryo-pod storyline at all, and Lion-o left Thundera as a young adult instead of a 12yo child. If I met him in real life, we’d instantly become besties <33.
-as for Tygra, I really like seeing him as the "mom" and "homemaker" of the whole group. In Roar, he essentially took on the role and part of the personality of Snarf from the original, which I really enjoy. I also love his dynamic with Lion-o, he’s like an older brother to him, stepping in to fill the void left by the father figure 💖.
On the other hand, I honestly HATE 2011 Tygra. They completely ruined his character, reducing him to a horrible asshole who's practically impossible to like. Unfortunately, Claudus played a major role in the toxic relationship and rivalry between him and Lion-o. I’m really sorry about what they did to his character, and I’m glad that in Roar, they turned him into a "mommy-ish," gay Twilight Sparkle hehe :3.
3. Who is your favorite reoccurring villain?
Definitely Mumm-ra. I really liked the chemistry he had with Tygra, and I’m creating a redemption arc for him that’s heavily tied to that, but I’ll come back to this in another question.
4. Who is your favorite Thundercats ally?
-I think I can count Barbastella, even though she didn't even interact with half the group. I really like her personality and her relationship with Panthro <3 💖💖💖💖.
-They’ll definitely be those "scorpion-men" who appeared in the "Swampy Johnny" episode which I HATE with all my heart and the only episode I wish had never been made. I like them, though, because they caught Johnny, for which I am eternally grateful :'3 🙏
5. Who is your favorite one-off villain?
Emmmm.... that might be a bit tricky. I’m not sure if Lion-s counts as a villain, though I suppose she does—after all, she tricked Lion-o a few times and tried to steal his sword. I hated her at first, but once it turned out that she and Lion-o were siblings (which I’d actually predicted), I started to like her and began coming up with a redemption arc for her :3.
6. What is your favorite episode?
Ooooooooouugh.... That's a REALLY hard question.... I think I need to make a list of this. Almost all of them focus on my ships XD:
-"Barbastella" is definitely one of my favorites because I was fed two ships that I absolutely love 💖💖💖💖 <3
-another one I watched many times was "Thunder-Slobs," cause it kicked off that wonderful relationship between Tygra and Mumm-Ra 💖💖💖💖
-I also like both parts of "Mumm-ra of Plun-darr," but unfortunately, one episode is missing from wcostream—the web where I watch it—and that episode is precisely "Mumm-ra of Plun-darr Part 2" :'>
-I also liked "Tygra's garden" (bro, that was so gay) and "Telethon" :3333
7. What is your favorite character dynamic?
-as I said before, I find it so adorable that Tygra is like an older brother to Lion-o, acting more like a parent to him, they just melt my heart 😭💖💖💖💖
-which is gayer? Being gay or whatever Tygra and Mumm-ra have going on? 🤨🏳️🌈?
-I don't know why, but I love it when Lion-o, Cheetara, and the kittens are the only four on screen 💖💖💖💖
-I remember how, in the original 80s version, the kittens would sometimes stand close to Cheetara while she held them by the shoulders, or that scene where they ran to Lion-o out of fear and held his hands, it was so sweet it almost made me cry 😭💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
-for some reason, the dynamic between Lion-o and Cheetara really reminds me of the one between Mera and Aquaman in King of Atlantis lol (or rather the other way around, since when I was watching koa, Mera and Aquaman's relationship strongly reminded me of Lion-o and Cheetara, heh).
8. What is your favorite ship?
-yes, I know TyChee is canon in the 80s and 2011, yes, I know Cheetara might give off "lesbian vibes" in Roar (though I’d like to remind everyone of the "Swampy Johnny" episode) BUT, Lion-o and Cheetara have always held a place in my heart and always will. I don't care what anyone else thinks, I love this ship, and I’m still hurting over what they did in the 2011 series.
Tygra did absolutely NOTHING to deserve Cheetara, yet she chose him anyway—why? Because he gave her a flower when they were younger.... like- girl, DA FAK? She had such a great relationship with Lion-o, but she chose that asshole instead... and she could've been in a truly healthy and happy relationship with Lion-o....
But why did I start shipping them in Roar? Well, back when I was just getting to know that world and the characters, I stumbled upon the episode "Barbastella"—catching it somewhere in the middle—and when I saw them together, I was like, "AWWW, they're so cute! I've always dreamed of a lion-cheetah couple! :D" but then, at the end of the episode, when Lion-o revealed that he and Cheetara weren't actually a couple and had just been pretending, I was like, " D: ...I don't care, I still ship it, maybe someday". When I watched the whole episode, I just loved their dynamic—the way they bickered throughout the episode was just adorable, and they really looked like a couple <3333 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 (now when I think about it, they kinda give me Luigi and Daisy vibes XD)
-in second place, of course, are Tygra and Mumm-Ra huehue. I just LOVE what they did with them, especially since the creators confirmed their marriage as canon, even if a new version were to be made someday that contradicted it 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

-In third place are Panthro and Barbastella, they're simply adorable, and the idea of Panthro dating the bat queen while being deathly afraid of bats is just hilarious and brilliant 💖💖💖💖 they're a truly adorable couple, and it’s a real shame that Barb only appeared in two episodes for any significant length of time—appearing for just a few seconds in two others and being mentioned in a single sentence in another. It’s a real pity she didn’t show up more often, cause I absolutely love her character. 💔

Ooooooooouugh........ well, since I have so many of them, and have already made posts about them, I think I’ll just list their names and who they are; if you want to know more, I’ll refer you to my posts about them:

- Kira (my sona)- She's a white eagle, modeled after the eagle from the Polish coat of arms, she escaped from her dimension and became a new member of the thundercats family :3
- Mike- Kira's husband and the main antagonist in my au, he's a black eagle from the German coat of arms.
- Lynxeen- Lynx-o's gradndaughter, if Lion-o has a sister in Roar, why couldn't Lynx-o have a granddaughter? :3 she's the same age as Kit and Kat
- Goldie- an orphaned golden tiger that Lion-s adopted when she was 2

10. What is your favorite Sword of Omens ability?
Honestly, I’ve never really given it much thought, but in my future au, the Eye of Thundera was shattered in two, which somehow unleashed even more power. Now, one half remains in the Sword of Omens, while the other is in LeeChee’s scepter and functions much like a wand.
