Couldn't resist the urge, so I wrote the first chapter. Yes, I know, horrible idea to be writing three stories at the same time is an awful idea. Idc.

Ares' nurse Thero that I dropped everything in the middle of my sketchbook to draw lmao Not only did she take the most pages to design, her page (that has Ares in it) is the last page of this sketchbook dump

the thing I was trying to do in this inital design is to have her have boar features that would align with her boar skull mask because I thought it'd be cool

however, it just made her look awkward. Not to mention she's a naiad, so I decided to just give her fin ears, but I wanted to give her a hair bun, but also wild hair

so I tried drawing her while holding baby Ares to figure out how I wanted her hair

I ended up looking up more Ancient Greek hairstyles so that I could mess around with them a bit and came to this design!

And I quite like it, it has everything I wanted honestly. Her clothing was up in the air but I wanted to try animal pelt and thought it'd be fun to have her have a boar tail from the pelt.

Basically I wanted this idea that Ares subconsciously became a boar due to Thero instead of just the Adonis murder. It felt more fun to me anyway, plus the fact her name means wild beast

Crawl & Fall

I based this off the small part of the Thebaid 'cause I found it sweet:

"The child, lying in the bosom of the vernal earth and deep in herbage, now crawls forward on his face and crushes the soft grasses, no in clamorous thrist for milk cries for his beloved nurse . . . Such was the young Mars [Ares] amid Odrysian snow." - Statius, Thebaid 4. 786 ff

I reaaaallly wanted to draw the image of baby Ares just kicking his legs as his face drags against the grass but I lack in traditional art so I just had him fall down lol I only added those trinkets on Thero's person for more design flare but I thought integrating them into this comic would be cute as it'd alert Ares she's near (and is probably how he followed her) I am not good at drawing babies, their proportions are foreign to me-

Small

He'll always be small to her (she can pick him up to prove it lol) I intended this to be after Ares' Jar incident, but it can work for after the Trojan War too

And as the last page (and comic) of this art dump, it's one of my favs So much so I'm adding the full page

My boxes may be uneven but it's fine Triggering? Yes. But I love it too much to think too much on it.
