“And she waltzed the earth awake and the rhythm of her feet fermented the stars alive, the synchronised sorcery of her fingers brought the solar system to life, and the flow of her arms looped around the sun and commanded him to open his eyes”

I like the name Eurymēdē for Bellerophon's mother more than Eurynome.
Not only because there's a shit ton of Eurynomes in mythology but because of their etymologies. Eurynome is generally agreed to mean "She of Broad-Pastures," and Eurymēdē apparently means "She with wide-ranging thoughts" which I think fits way more with her character - a woman who was said to be as wise as the gods and taught by Athena herself her arts.
What is your head-canon on Eurynome and the Charites/Graces (I sometimes add Pasithea in the group) ? Also, did Eurynome help raised Hephaestus when he was younger ?
I think she loves her daughters and she's a very good mother to them ❤️ also yes she did raise him with Thetis!!
I recently learned about the historical meaning of the term «Boston marriage» and could be applied to Thetis and Eurynome. I know that the Nereids live in the household of their father Nereus (I’m not well versed about the Oceanides) also I’m not fully convinced if they have her own houses or if they also can live in Poseidon’s palace, but, if they lived alone in the cave where Hephaestus spent his childhood, they are a Boston marriage.
Thetis and Eurynome fulfilling the dream of some. What woman has not thought once about living in a house with her bestie? 😭😭😭
Also Boston marriages can be applied to describe romantic cohabitation, imagining Thetis and Eurynome having a relationship makes things more interesting (hc that a lost poem by Sappho explored that relationship😁). Whatever the case may be, they are a family with an adopted kid and that has a lot of potencial for an Sunday afternoon film😍😍.
Il. 18. 393-409 (Murray’s translation)
And the famous god of the two strong arms answered her: "Verily then a dread and honoured goddess is within my halls, even she that saved me when pain was come upon me after I had fallen afar through the will of my shameless mother, that was fain to hide me away by reason of my lameness. Then had I suffered woes in heart, had not Eurynome and Thetis received me into their bosom--Eurynome, daughter of backward-flowing Oceanus. With them then for nine years' space I forged much cunning handiwork, brooches, and spiral arm-bands, and rosettes and necklaces, within their hollow cave; and round about me flowed, murmuring with foam, the stream of Oceanus, a flood unspeakable. Neither did any other know thereof, either of gods or of mortal men, but Thetis knew and Eurynome, even they that saved me. And now is Thetis come to my house; wherefore it verily behoveth me to pay unto fair-tressed Thetis the full price for the saving of my life. But do thou set before her fair entertainment, while I put aside my bellows and all my tools."
