Well as you may have noticed the new website did not go up last week. As hard as I’ve been working on it, and stressing about it, it just wasn’t there yet and at the end of the day the orders that keep rolling in took priority. And after spending a couple days feeling really frustrated about not having it ready I decided to take a deep breath and just be. Be ok with where I’m at in this journey. Its so easy to get caught up in the frustrations of life and focus on our weaknesses instead of looking at the positives, and why is that? Of course I think having the perfect website is important but creating will always come first for me because that is the life of an artist/maker! So instead of beating myself up over being technologically challenged I’m going to feel grateful for being able to create and so blessed for all of the orders and your consistent love and support! For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawn to the ocean. Again, maybe it’s a water sign thing. Or maybe it’s that as a child every year we travelled to the coast and I could not wait to get out on the beach and play in the water. Just to be near the water was pure happiness. I knew I had a connection with it. As time went on I also felt a love for the sunrise. No matter where I am I feel an excitement to jump up and catch the rising of the sun, the start of a new day, new dreams. I believe any sunrise is magic but if it also happens to involve the ocean that to me is the ultimate joy. I love the way both the sunrise and the ocean are constantly changing and never the same, always beautiful. I feel this way about life as well. Style, music, art, to me are a form of self expression and each have inspired me in different ways, always changing. In my life I have embraced many styles, ideas, tastes which is the pure definition of eclectic. Style is also very personal, unique, a way of communicating. And like the sunrise and the ocean it can take on many forms which is what makes it beautiful. So my belief is embrace it. Be who you are. Be eclectic. Powering through, or I should probably say dancing it out through these tie dye orders all week! I honestly had no idea how the response would be when I decided that tie dye would be the first official drop of my new label @the_eclectic_sun but I am overwhelmed with excitement! I’ve always been a lover of tie dye, all the different colors, that no two are ever exactly alike making each piece unique and one of a kind, and that it’s imperfect, which in its own way makes it perfect. It reminds me of life. So for me theses pieces were the right jumping off point to start a brand that I want to encompass being different, one of a kind, eclectic. Like the sunrise or sunset. As an artist/maker it feels good just to create, but when your running a small business it means the world when what you’ve created brings joy to others and is received so well. So what I’m trying to say through all of my rambling is THANK YOU! My hands might be turning the colors of the rainbow (ie. don’t forget to wear gloves while dyeing 🙈) But just know, each and every piece that comes from me has certainly been made with love, maybe a little dancing, and so much gratitude.
