Ur Tfc x Ut crossover au has become my new Hyperfixiation!! A great mix of new and past interests.
I've been meaning to ask how'd Jester, TT and Doctor would react visiting the monster city since I'm sure Pierrot and Harlequin would be eager to tell them about their visit.
It'd be interesting to see the tfc cast learn more about the Mc while meeting their family and friends (cough cough sans, papyrus, undyne etc..)
Once I'm free I'll be making more art about this au...
I took my time before answering this question because I hate having out of character headcanons about characters, and I'm not confident in my writing of Ticket Taker and Jester, two of the most closed off characters.
so please give me some grace if I butcher up their character.
Pierrot and Harlequin would tell them about everything as soon as they get back, stumbling over their own words as they explain some parts because they haven't fully processed everything either. there's a whole another type of monsters, they used to live in the underground, and now they have a whole secret city on the surface just for them, Frisk grew up there and apparently is the pillar of the lives of so many monsters there.
Everyone would be in shock at first, as expected, then Ticket Taker would think they are joking or confused, maybe they consumed some really strong drugs that make them see things? but once they prove that they aren't confused or lying one way or another, everyone would be curious. TT would cancel their plans on going to wherever they were going next and change their destination to this monster city, aka Surface Home. with the permission of Jester, of course.
they wouldn't pack up and leave in one night, of course, so they'd still be there the next morning, and they would pull Frisk aside and interrogate them as soon as they see them, asking Frisk about what happened on that holiday visit, about the whole underground and surface thing, about if they knew they were monsters the whole time, about the new monsters, about how Frisk even knew this whole community of monsters.
Frisk answers a lot of questions before realizing that all their answers just create new questions, and answering every questions like this would 1: confuse them further and 2: take too long, so Frisk offers them to come and see it with their own eyes, and listen to the whole story there.
Frisk has to take more vacation days from the cafe now and their boss won't be happy with that, but let's assume Frisk found someone who can cover for them while all this is happening (• ▽ •;)
★TIME SKIP TO WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT SURFACE HOME
The UT monsters would be more than happy to see Frisk brought more of their friends (This time it's not only the red and green clowns that's visiting, it's everyone in the circus!) and warmly welcome the TFC monsters, Jester, being their leader, would be the representative for them and accept all the greetings and welcomes, managing to look as composed and unaffected as ever on the outside while he's having a little crisis on the inside. there's been this many monsters living peacefully here while he was unaware? how did he not know? how did anyone not know? and the strange human that was right under his nose for weeks, they grew up among monsters? how did he not connect the dots?
Doctor would be nearly shaking with excitement over how many possibilities for research there is here, how many subjects for experiments, he'd be squeezing his fist and trying to stay rational, but his mind is elsewhere already thinking of all the things he can learn.
Frisk would show them around and introduce them to things, like
"This is MTT Hotel Surface Resort, there is one of these in the underground too! they have gigantic beds."
"this is the library, they spelled the title correctly this time! you can read about monster history, traditions, and culture from here, or buy your newspaper from here. or just sit and enjoy the atmosphere."
"The spider bake sale! all the spiders you will see around here are connected to this organization and it's owner, so be careful what you do."
"this whole flower field you see here belongs to my father, it's a place to hang out, and a popular spot for picnics. you can visit it anytime!"
"and this is- oh hey Papyrus! this Papyrus, him and his brother are like family to me, we should all hangout sometime after I introduce my actual family to you!"
They wouldn't be able to introduce Undyne or Alphys or Napstablook to the TFC monsters like this because I imagine those three still mainly live in the underground.
★TIMESKIP TO WHEN THEY FINALLY MEET FRISK'S PARENTS AND THEY'RE DONE SEEING AROUND TOWN.
Toriel and Asgore still live separately, they're officially divorced now afterall, but they're in the same place this time so that Frisk can introduce their family to their friends at once instead of once at a time, there's a new palace for Royalty to live in(it's just Asgore lol, he lets random monster come in and out as they want to not feel so lonely like he did back in Undertale).
They go in to see Asgore first, since he's the king,
After the classic "hello xyz, I'm abc, nice to meet you" type of meeting, Jester prepares himself to unload the million questions he has, but Asgore is quicker, he starts with saying "I've heard a lot about you all" and eases his way into asking them about how there has been monsters on the surface all this time if all the monsters got sealed underground after the war, TFC monsters don't know about any wars that happened that involved monsters of course, so Asgore first explains the "once upon a time monsters and humans ruled over earth together in peace, until a war breakout" story. they quickly understand that humans erased that part of history, and that's why even the monsters on the surface don't know anything about it.
they spend some time learning about each other, how the magic of the UT and TFC monsters work, how they lived, how the UT monsters are made of dust and magic while TFC monsters are made of meat and bone like humans with little magic in them compared to UT monsters, Asgore listens to them very carefully, Jester doing most of the explaining about themselves while Ticket taker supports his points,
They've never been ones to enjoy being in the presence of someone with higher authority than them, but Asgore feels less like a king who looks down on them and holds power over them and more like a soft and heartbroken king who wants to help, he tells them about the war and how it affected all the monster, how he gave them hope again, how he had helped and adopted a human child, how both of his kids died in one night, how he tried to give hope to the monsters in the underground again and the set the rule to kill any humans that fell underground, how he regretted it, how Toriel left him for it, how he had to kill and collect the souls of six human children, how he almost killed Frisk too..
so when it's their turn to tell him about themselves, they don't try to hide the parts of themselves that they usually would never let anyone know about, they tell him the fact that they drug and kidnap and eat humans to keep up their disguises and to stay alive, the fact that they used to be captured by a human man and forced to be an attraction in his circus, the fact that they were starved by this human, how they had to eat one of their kind to not die, how they burned down that circus and killed the ringmaster before escaping....
Asgore looks terrified, and for a second they think he's terrified of them, but he's terrified for them, his soft heart is in pieces for them, he feels conflicted about the fact that they kill humans so casually of course but everyone deserves a second chance! he offers for them to stay there, to live in the Underground or on the Surface with the rest of the monsters, tells them that they can keep their circus up even if they stay here, except for the fools obviously, they would have to stop using brainwashed humans as free labor.
all this would have to happen before they can start meeting Frisk's friends and actually bonding with Frisk's family, but I imagine Pierrot would be closest to Papyrus and Toriel, he would be Jealous of papyrus at first, but they would get closer with time and with Papyrus's efforts, and Pierrot would eventually be fine with Papyrus's friendship with Frisk, and even like him to a degree. and of course Toriel would see him as a son and feel indescribable amounts of empathy for our poor red clown and become motherly and protective over him.
Jester would be closest to Asgore, even though they have different world views, they were both hurt by humans, they both had people to take care of and prioritize before their own pain and well-being, they are both leaders in their own right. they would play chess and puzzles together, they would chat while drinking tea or coffee, and Asgore would take care of things for Jester to take burden off his shoulders, like covering Circus's expenses and taking responsibility for when they cause a mess in Surface Home(like if Pierrot broke someone's window in anger without meaning to, he'd get that person's window fixed and just have a talk with pierrot about it afterwards)
Doctor would befriend Alphys and learn all about the UT monster's biology from her, and she would learn all about the TFC monster's biology from him, they're both going to do so much soul research! doctor used to do his research with whatever he could get his hands on with the circus's budget before, but now he has access to everything he could ever want or need, you won't be able to get him to sleep or leave the lab for a few days, he won't stop eating but all he eats will be snacks without even lifting his head from his research. after a few days he will calm down and settle on a healthier schedule though.
And I want to write a section for Ticket Taker too so badly but I just don't know him all that well 😢 maybe in the future.
