Two ideas, The Freak Circus related because obviously I’m not normal. Feel free to write about these, I probably won’t write or add anything else about these. I’m just rambling.
@nightowl-antics thoughts? I’m rambling honestly
The old family farm is willed to you, the MC. Escape from bust city life, we all know how it goes. But once you arrive in town, on the edge of the property, a strange letter sits in the aged mailbox.
Inside is an old set of keys hanging from a necklace. The letter is very concise in its contents.
Don’t leave any mirror uncovered. If you must remove the fabric draping the nearly ancient glass, be quick with it. If not, something will start watching you if you. With exception of the single mirror facing the front door. That one is uncovered for the home’s safety.
The chicken coop will not open. Do not force it. To collect eggs from inside, leave the basket by the door. It will be full by mid day. If your assistance is needed beyond that, you will know.
Leave the back corner of the barn as it is. The animals are safe. They come and go as they please. The livestock guardian dog must be fed but outside the building. The closet in the back is not your space. What lives in there does like to watch, lock your doors and windows, but keep the curtains cracked. If so, all animals will be safe throughout the night.
If you must fish, do not enter the water. Stay on the dock. Should something be dropped in the pond, it will be returned. Return a fourth of your catch, and you will be left alone. Do not submerge a limb in the water, warmth and blood draws unwanted attention. You do not want such attention.
The old winery is never locked. Do not lock it. Do not go in. If you wish for wine, leave the materials by the door. Never leave instructions. Bring books. New ones, old ones, loved or hated ones. If your book is returned, bring tea. The grocer will have many, do not bring those. Go to the greenhouse.
Never fall asleep in the greenhouse. It will tempt you. Take what you must, leave what you can. It is comfort. But it will take more than you are willing to give.
No unannounced guests. No overnight guests. If you must bring another onto the farm, give notice, written notice. Unannounced guests must be accompanied at all times and walked back to the gate. The locals know this. They will not cross the gate, no matter what is offered. Children are exempt, but warily.
TFC Mc who was adopted or is the godchild of the Adams family. They be relatively comfortable with the more morbid aspects of life, not entirely comfortable with death but certainly understanding of the world they live in.
The Thing hangs onto the nearest person and chilling. Doctor is spotted questioning or just staring at Thing often. Occasionally messing with anyone who passes by. Most often being Pierrot and Harlequin.
Gomez would absolutely love fencing with Jester, maybe Pierrot too. Harlequin is only allowed to fence with Gomez under supervision because putting on the blades is not against any rules, but Jester frowns at it.
Ticket Taker and Lurch have been spotted simply being in the same room. Not a word spoken. Just there in the room.
Doctor and Grandmama are regularly seen in the garden debating the probability of certain genes emerging from the poisonous plants they breed. Mortica gives Doctor and Pierrot the rose buds she cuts from her rose bushes, whether they get used for tintures or teas is up to the recipient of the buds.
Fester and Harlequin get into a lot of mischief. Occasionally Gomez joins in. Either way, Ticket Taker picks them up from wherever they end up.
Mortica, Gomez, Ticket Taker, and Jester have tea together in the evenings. Very calm conversations on their respective experiences, maybe a little heated when Gomez sets something on fire during a talk about particular topics. (Jester has the tensest smile on his mask at the sight of the flames.)
Pierrot and Wednesday occasionally examine the others blade/knife collections. Maybe a little teaming up against Harlequin. What Adam’s wouldn’t indulge in a little hunting for sport?
Grandma gives Pierrot new recipes for cooking human meat. Why does she have those recipes? Shrug, stars forbid a woman have hobbies.
