So I know that there's an "official" Surgebinding chart... But it just looked a bit too messy, and in some orders cases washed out, to me. So I made my own, complete with text to say what each symbol actually is as well :3

Friend of mine asked "what if Mistborn was British" and it spiraled into this whole complex thing where we completely remade the allomancy and feruchemy tables with new metals and are slowly devising an alternate history where queen Victoria is immortal, but the reason I bring this up is I need to know if ANYONE knows I there's official kanji for the ten stormlight archive surges???
Can being a Radiant heal like. Period cramps. Important question.
So if I am correct, Brandon has said that there can be a fabrial replicating every surge, and hypothetically every power in the cosmere.
On the topic of surges, gravitation, progression, transformation, and transportation all have fabrials replicating their abilities. However, for the other surges, how would fabrials replicate their abilities?
Adhesion is used by Windrunners and Bondsmiths, and their associated polestones are sapphire and heliodor, and they're bindspren, obviously. However, other than trapping bindspren in those polestones and wrapping them in pewter, what else could you do for the fabrial?
Maybe you could use Raysium to put the Investiture into surfaces, but I generally try to avoid using God metals, so does anyone else have any ideas about how to do this?
Or for any of the other surges, does anyone have any ideas?
This blog plans to run a series of tournaments comparing different Invested Arts in Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere.
what would you like to see first?
Selish arts
Surges of the Knights Radiant
Orders of the Knights Radiant
Misting powers
Ferring powers
something else?
This may ultimately lead to a declaration of Tumblr's Favorite Invested Art... although it's hard to compare some.
If you'd like, please reblog this post and follow this blog so more people can vote in the tournament!!
Additionally, asks are open—tell me about what Invested Art you hope will win, ask me questions about the tournament, or simply say hi to a fellow Cosmere fan!

If I had a nickel for every time the rules of ancient magic are lost to time and become only the realm of the isolated academic despite once being known by everyone, and when the magic returns no one believes it except for the few people who have been chosen by the magic already and the specialized scholars, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't very much, but it's still kinda weird that it happened twice, yeah?
p.s. It’s in two of my favorite books, The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst by Jaclyn Moriarty and The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.
