Hey! I just realized your iconic huge pony ears have significantly infected your drawings of other creatures, which I'm really glad to see :3 Also, Kobold Sapphire real? I don't know much about kobolds but... how many renditions of Sapphire as other creatures will we see? Do you consider the different versions of her to be from different universes or stemming from a single shapeshifting character? I'm glad you're still drawing. I had a great time catching up on your older pony drawings with the giant ears (I only joined the pony fandom in 2022, pretty late), and even though you're focusing on different stuff now, I love seeing how parts of that older style have carried over (large ears, for instance :D)
I don't know if it bothers you at all to still be thought of as "the one who draws the ponies with the humongous and extraordinarily fluffy ears", but I hope you know that I want to be genuinely appreciative of where you are in your artistic journey right now (even though I can't deny that I am really in love with the big ear ponies phase). Looking forward to whatever creatures you'll be drawing next!!
First of all, I adore being "the one who draws the ponies with the humongous and extraordinarily fluffy ears." To this day, friends will send me pictures of animals with giant ears like "That's you." It is a legacy I cherish, and I'm so so happy to hear you're enjoying the old ear stuff! And I hope you've been enjoying your time in the fandom! It's certainly quieter now than it way in the hay days, but there's so much good pony stuff buried out there, and still being created too!
Heh, and yeah, with your follow-up ask I can confirm that Sapphire Kobold is a character that's been around while, she's my longest running Dungeons and Dragons character. Kobolds are generic fantasy creatures that can vary wildly between depictions, but in Eberron (a setting in DnD) they are little magical lizard people (for the nerds in the know, she's specifically an Iredar Kobold).
Probably the best time to mention this, Sapphire Lollipop (the pony) was going to have her own Ask Blog at one point. I don't know where my production notes for it are anymore, but it was going to be about her living in some middle-of-nowhere village, constantly coming up with wacky schemes to make enough bits to leave for the big city. She'd run a little candy store, and the "asks" would be treated like visiting customers. I went with Miss Pie's Monsters instead in the end, but at least now there's a Sapphire out there that's being a money-hungry gremlin shopkeeper.
Crazy to think that this character (who I created in response to some indignant sportscaster guy being like "Bronies are stupid, fawning over ponies with names like Sapphire Lollipop") has been around for nearly 15 years now. She's older than some of my followers probably lol.
