"Blaine called," Mercedes mentioned casually - headcanon for blaine's decision to call mercedes? and on the other hand, kurt's thoughts about that call?
SSPSD spoilers: Blaine knows that one or both of them (Wes and David) is going to call Kurt, because these are his best friends. It's not like it isn't obvious what they're next step would be. He should call and warn Kurt, because he knows he'll probably still be at the office, but he can't. So he calls Mercedes, who is still his friend (that's one thing she'd been clear on - they've met for lunch a few times since...) and gives her a warning to pass on. Then he feels like a coward, but he doesn't know what else he could have done, and that's how he comforts himself.
He's been doing that a lot lately.
Kurt isn't really sure how to feel. On the one hand, he's hurt that Blaine is continuing to pass messages through Mercedes, but on the other, he's been doing the exact same thing. He just doesn't know. And talking to Wes didn't really help.
how many people to you know in New -" His eyes got really big as he put two and two together - "...Oh." - Blaine's actual thoughts about them seeing Kurt? (obv he's not being honest in the story when he says he's fine!)
Spoilers for SSPSD: The thing is, that once he realizes that they're going to see Kurt, he eventually works out that that means they're going to see Kurt. They are going to get to see his face, and hug him, and breathe the same air as him, and yeah, they're broken up, but Blaine's not kidding himself that he's fallen out of love with him or anything. So he goes through a quick spiral of annoyance (doesn't last long) to jealousy, to a kind of waiting, because at least this way he can maybe work the conversation back to how Kurt looks, if he talked about him, or asked anything, or how he looked, and what color his eyes were that night. Because he's reached the point where not having Kurt around has gone from a sharp pain to a sharp pain and an ache, and he misses his best friend.
I should mention that this is just one swing of the emotional pendulum that was his response to that - it swung quite a bit.
"And then Kurt had shown up at his dorm room door at midnight. With an olive branch. An actual, real, goddamn olive branch. In New York. In the middle of winter. And the song had been left unfinished, tossed aside as all of the anger had seeped from his body in an instant." or more about this, por favor?
You have no idea how long Kurt spent trying to find that goddamn olive branch. No. Idea. Grand gestures, it turns out, take a hell of a lot of favors.
"Do you honestly think that Blaine and Kurt don't belong together?"There was a pregnant pause. Wes crossed his fingers.David swore." how about David's thought process here? we're getting more of Wes' POV in the story. (dont feel compelled to answer all of these! just anything that sparks your interest or is particularly interesting)
SSPSD spoilers: My David thinks things through a lot more than Wes does. He weighs the options of things when he hears them. And what he heard was Blaine not wanting him to get involved. He also heard Blaine clearly heartbroken, and, if Wes is to be believed, Kurt is the same way. And neither of them want to talk about why.Â
But Blaine has specifically stated that he's fine, and it takes Wes pointing out to David the inconsistency for him to make his choice. He needs to go, see Blaine for himself, try to reign Wes in. Because when it comes down to it two of his best friends are hurting, and, if nothing else, he needs to be there for them.

tackling SSPSD "Blaine decided not to mention that he hadn't moved any of Kurt's stuff from where it had been left, and that he'd taken to sleeping in some of his boyf – ex-boyfriend's shirts. And it was probably best not to confess that he'd been sleeping on the couch or in the guest room because he couldn't stand to look at their empty bed, or the balcony where-" more headcanon about depressed Blaine? or an explanation of the balcony thing? or what he's thinking when he self corrects bf to ex?
I guess... SSPSD spoilers?
Their apartment wasn't huge, but it was big enough for a piano, which made it, by New York standards, quite spacious. Which, of course, meant it cost the earth. When they finally talked about it, and confessed that they were totally in love with it, and drew up budgets and schemes that revealed that, with the help of some of the money that had just come out of trust for Blaine, they could probably make it work for about a year before it became actually impractical.Â
They moved in, and because moving is stressful they were completely snappy, and exhausted, and pretty much just wanted to curl up in a hot bath and not think about anything to do with packing tape. And they had a fight on their first night in the new place - not a huge one, just an argument over furniture placement that spiraled out of control. By the time that Blaine was getting ready for bed his anger had abated, and he went to look for Kurt, who had made himself a cup of tea and gone to stand on the balcony. Their view wasn't spectacular - not of the bay, or anything, it wouldn't be on a postcard. But it was of New York, a reminder that they'd made it there, made it work, and when Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist, and he set his tea on the table, that was when they were both able to let everything else go, just for a minute, and enjoy the fact that they were there. Together.
Hi Jenny! (first, I love your sidebar gif-I almost forgot what I came to ask you) I was going through my bookmarked pages from way back when, and I came across SSAPSD (is that the right acronym?). Your and three others' posts I reread inspired me to make a Klaine playlist of my own, and since I borrowed a lot of songs/headcanon in the process, I wanted to ask if it was okay for me to post it on my blog for future reference? I'll tag/credit everyone who lent me creativity so you can see it. :)
I think that's wonderful, and I highly encourage you to post it, but I would say that if you're borrowing headcanon from other writers that you should just make sure it's credited properly. I'm so glad you liked SSPSD (which I still have to edit for livejournal ugh).
Also my sidebar gif is by waltzy, who is my favorite. As is my theme. Everyone should go love her.
Every time I hear "I'm Never Gonna Leave this Bed" on the radio, I think of SSPSD. Becuase that fic is that awesome, and I'm still thinking about it weeks after I read it.
Every time I hear it I think of it, too, and it’s been months since I wrote it. It’s nice not to be the only one. Thank you, anon. :)
