Everyone knew your boyfriend Katsuki, was in bed by 9:30 pm.
Whether it was for beauty sleep, getting his full eight hours, or avoiding the grouchy attitude that came with being tired, he was always asleep early.
You, on the other hand, liked staying up late every now and then.
Curled up on the couch beneath a knitted blanket, with only your head peeking out, you watched a movie; the soft glow lighting up the living room. The longer it played, the heavier your eyelids became.
By 11:59 p.m., you were barely awake.
For once, Katsuki wasn’t asleep.
Though he’d been lying in bed for nearly two hours, he kept checking the clock, stubbornly fighting off sleep for one very important reason.
The second the clock hit midnight, a pair of strong arms wrapped around you from behind.
Before your sleepy brain could catch up, he pressed a gentle kiss to your temple.
You blinked up at him. “I thought you were asleep,” you mumbled.
“Tch. This is the one night I stay up late for,” he said, pulling you closer against his chest. “Nearly passed out waiting, though.”
A small smile tugged at your lips, “thank you baby.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he grumbled, pressing another kiss to your hair. “Now quit smiling and come to bed. We can enjoy your birthday tomorrow,” he said while picking you up and bringing you to bed.
