I was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (āmultiple personalitiesā) in 2007. I am still multiple but now live well, no longer impaired or distressed. As a result, I donāt fit the DID diagnosis any more. We donāt have a language established for people like me, so Iāve developed my own.
You know what there isnāt enough of? Good resources on Dissociative Identity Disorder/Multiplicity!
Hereās a very good one, endorsed by two friends of the blog with personal experience, research, Good Politics, and good heads on their shoulders!
If you like what youāre seeing here, be sure to stop by the authorās organization, The Dissociative Initiative (āFor, by, and about people with multiplicity, dissociation, and amnesiaā), for more resources and ways to connect with the greater community.
And if you donāt know much about DID? Please take a moment to educate yourself, and help fight the stigma that b.s. movies like Split, Fight Club, and Me, Myself, and Irene keep putting out there into the world.
