Since I had already got Camillot to crush on Jamzy in the demo, the first thing he did (I think) was confess! Jamillot is real!!!

Then I added the Series 8 leaders and immediately got hit with a BUNCH of Old Man Yaoi 😭

And we’ve officially come to the end of the art project; closing my own tribute to this underrated little gem of a franchise that has left a huge impact on my life. All 81 Mixels, drawn, colored, and presented! Overall it has been a swell time revisiting this series, and drawing out all these fun, wacky, and imaginative looking creatures. Getting to talk about all my personal favorite characters, while also finding some new appreciation for some others.

I feel very accomplished working on this project, it allowed me to sharpen up my drawing skills, create my own release schedule, as well as experimenting around with the color pencils set that I got for Christmas. I’ll probably do something like this again for a different series/franchise in the future, but for now, I’m going to move on to some new smaller projects. I’ve been drawing Mixel characters for nearly 3 months and I kinda want to take a break for now. But I’ll certainly get back to it at some point, I might even consider drawing out all the Maxes.

Ok quick confession: I basically never payed any attention to the MCFD. Sometimes I even forget what their names are. If it wasn't for the fact that I own Splasho's Lego set, I'd probably forget that the tribe even exists! I mean in theory the firefighter theme seems like it would be interesting, but in practice you realize that the theme is actually extremely limited, and the only two options for new MCFD designs are either the super obvious ones that have probably already been done, or you have to think REALLY outside of the box to come up with something interesting, which isn't always easy to do for most people. So despite how sad it is that the MCFD Mixels got absolutely no good characterization, when you really stop and think about it, it does make sense why that is the case. If I had to take a guess, I'd say that the creators working on them were probably so burnt-out and mentally exhausted from designing them, that when it came time to actually come up with personalities for them, they kinda just, conked out and were too tired to really flesh them out well.
