okay not to ocpost again but the worst thing about having an oc is sometimes they become The Character to you. and you need to talk to someone about it like wow I can’t stop thinking about The Character… but in order to do so you have to like sit them down and explain everything about your oc first. and then it’s just you explaining your writing ideas. i need to talk about them the same way i would talk about any random character i love to someone.

Maybe not strictly related but I was recently stunned after I realised that the vast majority of media references to down syndrome I've seen are babies and toddlers. If you weren't properly informed you could easily be left with the belief that people with this condition just don't grow up.
This is infantilization of people with down syndrome.

From what I've seen this tends to come from at least these points of view:
The creators want to create more sympathy, and children as they are often deemed as "pure" and disability is often deemed as "bad/poisoning/rotting/etc", then it makes it so that it's this tragic thing that happened. More often than not these are mostly focused on the POV of the parental figures and their struggles, and not the disabled child's.
They literally just forget that these children can and often do become adults. And as it's very common, disabled adults are mostly just seen as a burden to the system/are forgotten completely.
Also, in general they are almost never (and this goes for any media with people with disabilities) created by the people they're representing, and don't have any of them making sure it's done right.

So, during the pandemic in 2020, Jens Spahn (CDU politician and minister of health at the time) bought 5.8 billion masks for 5.9 billion Euros, wasting taxpayer money in a deal that was and is still widely critized as corrupt, and to this day he didn't face any political consequences for it.
Surrogacy is illegal in Germany, his party is against legalizing it, and he himself spoke out against it just a few years ago. Yet, he just made it public that he and his husband became fathers via a surrogate mother in the USA. This caused a huge scandal in his party, and he now had to abdicate from being his party's parliamentary leader in the Bundestag.
Hence, his party was basically saying they can excuse corruption but draw the line at using a surrogate mother to have a child.

I've been saying to my friends for the past few weeks that they should be paid more if they have to sing for a role, and they agree. But I wanted your opinion on it too since you're a more experienced voice actor than I am.
Considering singing is an entirely different skill set, yes they should be paid more
Like there is something funny about two talents requiring your vocals do have different needs and practices you must do in order to get better at them.
And then I have to remind myself that writing and drawing require your hands but also are VERY different art forms.
