For non-fiction, it's probably:

A Curious Faith, by Lore Ferguson Wilbert

Adorning the Dark, by Andrew Peterson

and then either the Every Moment Holy series or one of my poetry collections, maybe The Best Loved Poems of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Fiction:

Princess Academy, by Shannon Hale

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart (when I have time)

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

6. what is your favorite book to recommend?

1 & 2: notes at work

3: a day it was raining so hard and yet the sun shone so strongly thru my window

4: chonky chicken at the thrift store

5 & 6: items donated to the church yard sale that made me Feel Things (nostalgia and horror, respectively)

i really wanted to post the sign i took yesterday but it would've doxxed me unfortunately 😔 it was one of those black signs where you push in the letters? but they'd run out of the right letters so like. a lot of their r's were upside down j's and they spelled "tuesdays" as "tuesdaise" bc i guess they ran out of y's lol at the bottom it said "ooh la la tequila" which kinda made it look like tequila was the reason all the other letters were kinda wandering around

(i want one of those signs for my apartment ngl)

I believe encouraging people to seek is very important, but I also believe that there is an absolute truth in our existance - otherwise seeking would be pointless if there was nothing to seek after. So personally, as I believe that Christianity is the truth and all other religion is false, I will not mask my belief for others. But at the same time I cannot make someone believe if they truly don't yet believe, so I always encourage them to question it too and be honest with themselves.  I used to be a Christian just because I thought it was the right thing to do, but doing that was not being honest with myself, just trapping myself and hiding from questions and it really inhibited me from growing in intellectual honesty and spiritual maturity.  I'm thankful for the people who encouraged me to question and really seek the truth 🖤    

I appreciate both your honesty, and that you encourage questioning and seeking out the truth for oneself! That last thing is especially rare in a lot of Christian circles, I’ve found.

I think my personal experience with coming out of abusive Christianity has led me to be extremely reluctant to ever, ever tell someone they should stay. I believe firmly in once saved, always saved. I think God fully and completely understands that some of God’s children cannot stay in the religion they met God in. but I also believe that once that relationship is forged, it can never be broken, no matter what someone does or where they go.

224: I am proud of making it this far.218: I would visit all my friends (internet or otherwise) and hang out with all of them, go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter one last time, and then I would try talking to others about Jesus as much as I could.185: I think it was The Dark Tower and 5 stars.
