people don’t enjoy shipping anymore. the point of shipping isn’t the catharsis of watching them kiss onscreen, it’s grabbing the characters and mashing their faces together like you’re five years old playing Barbie in your room again. it’s to take one moment of eye contact in canon and read that over and over and over again with twenty different writers’ interpretations of the characters internal monologues if they were in love. it’s to see the characters interact and cheer because you know that’s another moment to add to your list of canon compliant fic ideas. you’re stressing yourself out, this is supposed to be fun!

Something that really sets Wille and Simon apart from other queer ships is that when we say their love language is physical touch, IT REALLY IS PHYSICAL TOUCH. And I’m not speaking of just sex. Over the course of the show, the amount of touching between them is astronomical. And that’s really something rarely seen in queer media. There may be moments here or there, but often times there’s a lack of physical contact unless it’s for “the plot”. Wille and Simon feel like a real couple in the way they’re always physically reaching out for each other.

Bro, I hate when actors are like, "Don't have gay ships involving my character because it's insult to actual gay relationships." Babe, it's more insulting to tell us we shouldn't ship a fiction man/woman with another fictional man/woman just because they aren't canonically gay. I promise we are well aware of the fact that the character is heterosexual in canon. But, we get so little representation that we're desperate for crumbs. Let gay people ship their stupid little fake characters with other stupid little fake characters and be happy. We rarely see actors talk about straight ships this way. How many times have you seen an actor say something like "Hey stop shipping this man and woman together because it would be an insult to actual heterosexuality." Exactly. What's actually insulting is how little representation we get. Let us be happy with the representation we have been forced to create on our own.
