Oho! So, this is Cymru Wales Sans, a custom typeface used by the Welsh Government for all tourism-related stuff, such as Visit Wales and Transport for Wales.

The fun-looking characters - mostly the digraphs, otherwise known as double letters - are based on old handwritten manuscripts, and also take inspiration from other languages.

Basically, they're by no means officially used in standard Welsh writing; it's just a fun nod to the Welsh of old, and helps really establish a sense of Welshness even when writing in English. So that's why I used it in that image!

However, I do take issue with some webpages using the typeface far too liberally in every piece of writing; it's not the most accessible of fonts (especially the stylised "ð" representing "d"), and it loses its impact when it's used outside of headers and simple signage. But I digress!
