Anyway. My ideal roykeeley endgame setup for s4 would've been starting them off as firmly just friends with both of them being very much in agreement about it. That has been their position for years now and it's been working very well for them. Roy has been dating other people, not very successfully but not for lack of trying. Keeley has had her hookups but has finally grown comfortable being by herself, and has ultimately been enjoying her single life. They still care about each other a lot, obviously and maybe there's always that lingering question of "maybe...one day," because that kind of bond doesn't just go away, but it hasn't been at the forefront of either of their minds for a very long time. There hasn't been constant mutual pining. They've moved on. And then something happens towards the middle (or even end, if they're planning on continuing this for more seasons) of the season to suddenly raise the question of them again, and we watch them slowly realize they're in love again.
