i just noticed this parallel in elrondriel and saudar -- i am not in either fandom but I thought it was cool how there is this pattern of friendship/love/what have you being formed in giving drink to the thirsty, and that being used as a symbol of recognition.
but also maybe a contrast in what galadriel has to offer (water) vs what sauron offers (wine), one being cleansing, the other intoxicating.
