Just realized that if the Kirk we saw with Spock was real, he was barely intoxicated compared to everyone else. Almost like, similarly to Ortegas, he's dealing with strong negative emotions (perhaps because of The Griffin, perhaps because of things getting worse with Carol, his fears of getting cut off from David) and so he couldn't be impacted by the atmosphere like everyone else.
And he chose to spend his time with Spock.

Not me belatedly realizing that this last episode was a remix of TOS' Shore Leave episode. (Which I love) Except the entire crew knew exactly what they were getting into. Just not how their "wants" would manifest themselves.
Also the fact that Spock and Jim both found each other, despite not coming to the planet together, and the fact that Jim wasn't seeking self harming stress relief (Finnegan who?), but instead looking for a deeper intimate connection similar to Spock. The fact that they actively shared their feelings, not under complete consensual scenario is also on point.
The way that Spock saw Scotty and Erica as plant people (lmao), but despite Jim being real, did not see him in that way.

something that fucks me up to think about is that after two seasons of iwtv, the first time we ever *actually* see lestat is in the last scene of the finale of the series.
this disheveled, soft spoken man hidden in a dark room with his fake keyboard is our larger than life, loud character who personified luxurious chaos and destruction. we spent two seasons with a ghost.
