Thank you. Iâm going through a very bad moment, I wish I had a doctor to talk to, long story. I donât even know where to start looking for help so I donât do it. Itâs hard to think things will work out like this but I guess Iâll just wait.

omfg that thing you said about kids trying to match the consonants through the word just explained a huge bit of my childhood and my tendency to make up weird words. I mean i even called my maternal grandfather the equivalent of "granpa coffee mugs" in my language because of it haha. so thanks!! that was super interesting infoooo
gahhh iâm so glad you made that connection! linguistics is really cool like that, it explains a lot of shit. thatâs why kids say âmamaâ or âdadaâ because they like mostly reduplication and words that are two âaccentsâ long - at least in English this is true - so thatâs why we see that stuff in language acquisition all the time. and!! it gets really interesting when you compare how kids learning English are the same or different than kids learning other languages - thereâs an argument out there that everything is universal cross-linguistically, these tendencies, and thereâs a lot of evidence for that. which is really cool. (ps what language do you speak?? iâd be interested to know what other language matches consonants!)Â
