Hiya groans into the pillow draped over his face, the only sound from his bunk. One foot and the end of his tail hang off the side. He’s still out of it, recently dosed back up with the tranquilizers.
Meanwhile, his brothers have gone a bit stir crazy. The cabin is a mess, clothes and gear strewn all over the place, mingled together with abandoned, unfinished board games and Hiya’s forgotten plate of dinner.
“I’m going to win this time,” Rilly proclaims.
“In your dreams,” Rito shoots back.
Rito and Rilly sit facing each other, glaring intensely over their hands of cards.
“Okay… and… Reveal!” They both slap their cards down, crowing with delight, until each realizes what the other has.
Their hands are nearly identical. But Rito’s is better.
“You cheated again!” Rilly accuses.
Rito just grins, “But did you catch me?”
“Then I win. Bow to the master!”
With a growl, Rilly makes an exaggerated bow towards his brother, “I’ll catch you next time!”
Rito is already reshuffling, the cards dancing through his fingers like magic, “You say that every time.”
