The throne room was silent except for the low hum of machinery. Green light flickered across stone walls older than most nations. Before him, a hologram replayed the transmission again. Susan Storm Richards, floating in hard blue light. Calm, controlled and surprisingly merciless.

“Harm my family… and there will be nothing left of you to remember.”

The image slowed. Frame by frame. The distortion inside Annihilus’s armor. The precise force-field insertion. The internal collapse. Victor von Doom steepled his fingers. “Magnificent,” he murmured. A Doombot shifted. “My lord?” “Not the death,” Doom said coldly. “The execution.”

He rose from the throne. Cape whispering against the stone. “Any common brute can kill. That insect has ‘died’ a dozen times before.” He gestured, magnifying the moment of implosion. “But this…” The Rod’s energy signature flatlined. No residue. No regeneration. No escape. “Permanent.” A surgical strike. No theatrics. No wasted motion. Like a scalpel.

Doom’s voice lowered. “She has crossed a threshold.” The Richards family had always been explorers, adventurers, and overall annoyances. Now? They were something else. Deterrents. Empire-breakers. A power that didn’t posture. It simply ended you. He folded his hands behind his back.

“The Kree will hesitate. The Shi’ar will calculate. The Skrulls will reconsider invasion entirely.” A pause. “And they will all do something far more dangerous.” The Doombot processed. “Fear Earth?” Doom turned toward the window overlooking Latveria. “No.” His reflection stared back — iron mask, unreadable. “They will fear the woman.”

Another beat. “And that makes Earth unstable.” Because frightened empires didn’t negotiate. They escalated. Preempted. Prepared doomsday weapons. Doom almost smiled beneath the mask. “Richards believes strength invites peace.” His fist clenched. “He never understands power.” A flick of his gauntlet activated global monitors. Satellites. Treaties. Fleet movements already shifting. Pieces moving across the board.
