Dear, lark of the sanguine
I loved Gravity's Rainbow. It is an amazing Novel. Do you have Advice for reading Mason & Dixon? đ If you are forced into a Katabasis, I do sincerely hope that it is only a Sojourn. - sincerely,

To the Postmodern Frog,
Lovely name, firstly, and I appreciate the Well-wishing. In reading Mason & Dixon, I found its Pynchon Wiki to be a most benevolent Companion,â in particular, its page Annotations and alphabetickal Index. I imagine youâre familiar, after G.R., but in the event you are not, I cannot stress enough its navigational value for the Ocean that is this book. Beware the Rabbit Holes youâll find, theyâre far too fun to fall in.
I will add that, while I was fond of the old Style from the start, there was a Moment, âround fifty pages, where I felt something shift, a simple turn of Understanding which ticklâd my Brain just so. I did not truly fall in love with the Book until well into the American yearsâthree, four hundred pages?âbut the Language morphâd, felt surprisingly natural, sooner than Iâd thought it would.
Gravityâs Rainbow, ahâĻ? Iâve yet to read Pynchonâs most well-known Masterpiece, although Iâve been looking forward to it;â in passing, I have collected the strangest Perception of what Iâll face, when eventually I do. If youâve any suggestions for the Approach, I will likewise take them gladly.
Yr obt svt,
Lark
P.S. - if you do read M&D, and youâd like to share Thoughts about it, my messages are open đ
To lark of the sanguine,
By Jove, the Courier who delivered your Letter was feverely tarried. No Matter, I have obtained your Correfpondence at this present Moment. What a jocund Occasion it is to hear from you; my Jubilation is at its Zenith.
I had ftudied that Pynchon Encyclopedia when I roamed through that other Ocean. I am not furprised that you grew accustomed to the Language. Father Time has that most remarkable Gift to banalize anything.
Gravity's Rainbow is chaotic... to say the least. I likewise recommend that you follow those fplendid Annotations. However, I would recommend a flightly ftrange Srategy. I would recommend you intentionally fkip fome Annotations. I was once an Orthodox who believed in understanding every Annotation. Although Metanoia came upon me silently like the malevolent V-2 rocket. The new Method creates a fense of Paranoia in yourself, and thus, make you more immersed.
May Your Reading Experience be fuperb,
Postmodern Frog đ¸
