the chickens are fond of reconnoitering the coop. they exit the southwest facing door and turn right immediately, going round counterclockwise from where I sit. east to northeast to north to northwest then back around front and into the door at the south. sometimes they make the trip just one lone one, while the others are resting comfortable inside. other times they line up and all go round at once single file. occasionally it’s a duo or a trio...
so i just looked up from the kitchen table where i was writing this and the hawk swooped!!!
she had a good hold on one of the barnevelder backs it seemed like by the time i was running and screaming and clapping my hands...

Just realised that I’m sort of mentioned in the Raptor Attack wiki page, as they mention that (paraphrasing) “an audio message was removed from the footage due to young children believing it was real and becoming distressed”
Like, at least 3 times for one reason or another I got to the front of the queue for a ride that takes like 1 hour and 30 minutes queueing at peak times to ride, just to freak out at the last minute and have to awkwardly stand on the side for my family to ride.

What's your most terrifying roller coaster moment that happened to you? My friend and I were on the Raptor Attack ride at Light Water Valley, Yorkshire. It's an underground horror roller coaster where the story is they were excavating the park and found raptor fossils, but now worker have gone missing in the excavations. After queuing for 10-30 minutes you descend through a cave down rickety metal stairs out of place in the mainly wooden park. Constant ambient music of a radio call for help plays, always ending the cycle with distorted screaming. The ride itself consists of carts travelling through pitch black tunnels, with lights randomly turning on and lighting up a raptor animatronic mid-attack. Apparently, towards the end, the guy on the radio call makes an appearance half mangled to death, but I always keep my eyes closed on it. Anyway, my friends had never rode before but I had. We got in the cart, it set off... And broke. The cart wheeled to a stop right at the start of the ride, where it was too dark to see anything but blurry outlines of my friends faces. With the ambient radio static going. And distant raptor screams. It isn't even easy to turn around and see the operators at that point, as we were nearly round a corner, so we couldn't ask what was going on. The cart had missed the runner somehow and hadn't picked up speed, so we were stuck in this, pretty effective, horror ride for half an hour, not knowing what was going on (even worse for our friend who hadn't ridden and was waiting for us on the surface and the people queuing on the surface). Eventually, one of the operators pushed the cart to the next runner and we got moving. But we were really on edge by the end of the ride, where the metal cabinet is at. Which shakes and bangs and screams, and nearly flies open. Which I knew about and my friends didn't, so it scared all three of us, leading to us sprinting all the way out of the caves in fright. Tl;Dr horror ride broke down with three girls completely in the dark about what was going on.
