Based on this incredible fossil. I return from the dead to bring you: my favourite dinosaur!!! Did you know powered flight/bird-like creatures likely evolved multiple times?? Modern birds are the only lineage that still persists, but many other pseudo-birds co-existed with them in the Jurassic and Cretaceous.

Despite being only around 40 lbs in weight, Velociraptor could grow to a length of about 6 feet from nose to tail. I think these length estimates are only based on the skeleton, so tail feathers would probably add additional length.
The average 3-seat sofa is around 7 feet wide.
Based on this information, if Velociraptors were to be successfully de-extincted and domesticated, it would result in a pet more efficient at blockading an entire couch for its body size than any modern domestic animal.

i've been so busy and distracted recently BUUTT BUT BUT ive been doodling dinosaurs frequently lately and figuring out a nice style for myself for not only my comms but also SWDD, so that's at least something :] been trying very hard not to stress myself out and take care of myself
HOWEVER! I'LL DO A MINI SPOTLIGHT RN RN;
hailing from late cretaceous mongolia, Achillobator giganticus is the LARGEST member of dromaeosauridae, rivalling its more famous american cousin, utahraptor, but being way more unknown in mainstream media. it didn't even get coverage in prehistoric planet </3 it DID however get featured as a playable dinosaur in the video game Path Of Titans, having a mob-boss, big-game hunter gameplay style and filling a support/ attack role niche :] very cool
this particular dinosaur belongs to a discord user and is not my oc, she is a path of titans achillo named pretzel!! path's design of that thing is kinda neat n it really grew on me, but it's quite a contentious beastie.. you either love or hate it hehehe

A team of researchers named it Shri rapax after examining a very well-preserved fossil, albeit missing its head. This fossil has a peculiar history, as it was found in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia during an illegal excavation and later smuggled abroad. This makes it more difficult to study a carnivorous species that lived approximately 71 million years ago and is related to the famous Velociraptor, as both are members of the Dromaeosauridae family
