@dragonheartetk and I have planned this day for QPRs to celebrate their relationships and non-romantic love for their QPPs. Personally I think this is really important, it can get a little tiring seeing so much romance everywhere, and having a day where we can celebrate our own kind of love is super cool!

We decided to make it every third Saturday of July to ensure it would always be on a weekend in the hopes people would have time off to spend with their loved one(s).

So I’ve talked with as many people as I could, and it looks like the third Saturday in July is it!

This year that will be July 18th. An entire day to celebrate our QPPs or simply spread awareness of the concept!

For anyone who doesn’t know, QPR stands for queerplatonic relationship (also known as quasi-platonic or quirky-platonic) and is a committed relationship based in platonic love. It can have other elements, such as sensual, sexual, or even romantic, but the core, primary aspect is platonic. Think of Legolas and Gimli or the guys from Full House. The term originated in the aspec community but is open to everyone!

I will be using the hashtag #qprday on Tumblr, Instagram, and TikTok, and you are welcome and encouraged to do the same! :D

Everyday, I wake up and think of you. It puts a smile on my face and makes the day more bearable. Sometimes I stare out the window and daydream of when I will finally be able to see your face in person, when I will finally be able to hold you close, when I will finally be able to let you hold me.

I think about being able to sit outside in the garden with you, on the bench in the corner that I keep mentioning, where the sun hits perfectly. I think about being able to climb into bed next to you as a gentle breeze comes through the open window, the gentle patter of the rain becoming soothing white noise as we cuddle underneath my quilt.
