My sister bought cotton seeds.
I don't know how I feel about this. I've been making 'cordage' (string) out of plastic bag and that really--it doesn't hurt like it causes me bad pain, but it makes my muscles burn really quickly. I don't know if this is normal for how thin my plies are, but I'm not going to resist that muscular pain for too long.
Like, look at this. And I think this is thicker than you'd be plying cotton?? I could quadruple this and just have something that would be realistic to yarn with. Although, I genuinely have no idea what even to do with this.....
Yes, I am just procrastinating because it's about noon and I have to go to the post office before I go home.
But for how long these sliced up bags have been sitting around waiting for me to do something and with everything that I have to do--continue working on the garden and helping around the house and preemptively preparing for this event that hasn't even stopped taking applications but even if I don't get this, I'll be prepared for the next event and I still need to continue working on new art because my linework isn't coloring itself, not even by telepathy!!
Who even has time to goof around with dandelion cordage?? Although, whether or not I finish plying this batch before next spring, I am still going to do my maximum to harvest as many bundles of dandelion stems as possible. I might also end up MacGyvering some kind of drying system to dry even more stems than I did this year; and I definitely need to find somewhere safe to store my current batch of stems........ If I put them in a plastic bag for a while, I may not have to worry about possibly bringing even more bugs into my office than already welcome themselves in through the window screens..... I swear to god: Before, no bugs on desk. Bring stick into office to make a nalbinding needle. After: Ants on my desk. Not okay. On the other hand, I put diatomaceous earth around the desk legs, so that should quarantine my desk a bit more.
But let's say I grow a couple cotton plants, probably inside the house. The bolls are probably just going to sit around for a million years unprocessed. For literal years. On the other hand, apparently each boll produces a good handful of seeds, so eventually, I could probably also start selling little packets of seeds just so they aren't just sitting around.
Personally, if she'd asked, I would've suggested flax, because even though it's a little more of a pain to process, it'd be easier to spin a longer fiber like that than a shorter fiber like cotton. Even the longest cotton staple is shorter than a short flax staple. Alas. She doesn't consult me on these things, she just leaves me with piles of homework. However, I guess I could grow a handful of cotton plants, and later, grow the flax, and do a blended fiber?
Spinning just wasn't really on my list of skills I aspire to have in my repertoire.........
The good news is, it rained the last few days, so the yard waste that I've been throwing in my planters seems to be beginning to break down and my potatoes are happy and my carrots transferred alright, which is awesome. Now I'm just waiting for a good time to get a little patch put together for my three sisters. The corn, my cubits, and my pea are all ready to go out. My pumpkin and some of the beans will be not long after that, and then the exotic/heirloom corn after that. Oh, and my strawberries are not having a good time. I'm not sure which container I should transfer one of them into....... And I think I finally managed to grow my own strawberries from seed! I had to crush off the stupid coating.
Even though I'm getting a late start, I still think it's gonna be alright.
Alright, well.......
I need to get to the post office so I can get home and get some electrolytes and food....... I hate eating when it's so hot and humid........ Apparently my girl is loving the heat. She yells and yells when I take her into the office, which is cooler, and beelines immediately back to my room.
I'll do day 4 tomorrow :p I'm to tired to do it today....

Looking at @tacticattails art makes me realize I still gotta finish painting my own Merc force.
They have no unified color scheme.
My Atlas is Hello Kitty, my Shadow Hawk is the Gundam, my Rifleman is a bumblebee.
Their theme is whatever I wanted to put them in and cripplingly poor money management.
Why hello there, loyal readers, on this, a random day of the week that is definitely not when we regularly schedule a new article! Did you m
Help! I’m Procrastinating and I Can’t Get Up!
Now it’s time we talked about productivity and how to fucking force it even when you’re not in the mood. Because you know what procrastination really is? Besides a completely average and not-humiliating dysfunction, that is?
It’s a waste of money.
