AP PHYSICS 1: MASTERPOST
General Tips
although the exam has a lot of qualitative questions, still make sure you know how to do the calculations very, very well!
do a lot of practice problems, and practice doing them without using the formula sheet.
time yourself!
Recommended Prep Books/Textbooks
Giancoli Physics: Principles with Applications
my high school physics 1 class used this textbook for practice problems, and I thought they were really helpful. The problems require more calculations and are more difficult than the actual exam, but it familiarizes you with the concepts and makes you more than ready!
APlusPhysics: AP Physics 1 Essentials
this one is good for concept review, and has very clear explanations. the multiple choice practice within each section, however, are on the easy side, and there are no full practice tests.
Sterling Test Prep: AP Physics 1
this is purely for multiple choice speed practice, and to make sure you know your calculations well. the questions, however, are somewhat easier than the actual mc.
Although everyone may be different, I personally do not recommend the Princeton Review (I usually love PR). The problems were simply very different from the actual exam. Since AP Physics 1 is a relatively new test, there really arenāt that many great prep materials out there specifically for Physics 1. The old Physics B materials may help, but I havenāt tried them to prevent confusing myself. ;;
Other Recommended Study Sources
Khan Academy videos
Although they are somewhat slow and a bit easier than the problems my class was doing, KhanAcademy is really useful in clarifying concepts that you donāt quite grasp at first!
Dan Fullertonās YT channel
aka the author of APlusPhysics! His videos are extremely helpful and present some pretty challenging problems. They really helped me for the electric fields section during class. If you have taken calculus, you may want to watch the Physics C videos- they talk about a lot of the same topics, and just solve using differentiation or integration instead of pure algebra.
Practice Questions
practice multiple choice; answers [pdf]
collegeboard 2016 frq; answers [pdf]
collegeboard 2015 frq; answers [pdf]
a few more multiple choice [pdf]
practice test
albert.io practice questions (physics 1 and 2)
Lastly, make sure you understand every single concept, especially the bigger ones relating to force, momentum, electric fields, and energy! If thereās any problem that you donāt understand the solution to, go back and try to prove it from scratch. Itās only by proving that you can achieve a firm grasp of physics!

6.28 // went to half price books today, and picked up some prep books! calc because iām so scared for that class and environmental science because iām going to try and self study that class this year and want to develop a good overview for the summer. also, i went to ikea and bought a cactus! i still need a pot but iām slowly trying to become a plant mom and this is a good step for me lmao.
hey guys!! iām selling twoĀ barronāsĀ SAT math level 2 study guides and twoĀ barronās SAT chemistry study guides! both of the chemistry books are completely clean + defect-free. one of the math level 2 books has 3 pages (out of roughly 350) that have highlighting + writing. the other math level 2 book has a few bent pages, but they are only pages from the diagnostic test. i literally didnāt use these because i ended up not taking subject testsĀ ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ

Does anyone have any suggestions for an AP Biology prep book? My AP Euro teacher basically forced us to get a specific one, but Iām clueless as far as Bio is concerned.Ā

Prep Books for Sale
So, I bought a bunch of Barronās prep books last year (this year? I donāt know, I have no idea which calendar to use to measure time anymore). And the only one I ended up using was the calc one (which probably saved my ass). Well, I also opened the Lang one, but I didnāt write in it. So, because Iām a nice person and I donāt have a phone so I canāt sell on Amazon, Iām gonna offer to sell them to you guys for $10 each + shipping, which will probably be $3-4 (and Iāll use Paypal to get the money from you). The books are ⢠Barronās ACT ⢠Barronās AP Human Geography, 5th Edition ⢠Barronās AP English Language and Composition, 6th Edition ⢠Barronās SAT, 27th Edition ⢠Barronās AP Physics 1 & 2 So, message me if you want more details or are interested. Thanks.
AP prep book suggestions?
Does anyone have prep books suggestions for:
AP Environmental Science
AP US history
AP English lang. and comp.
My suggestion is Barronās most definitely for anyone taking AP art history! I used Princeton Review for APWH but I also had Barronās for APWH and I preferred Barronās, however, that might just be personal preference. Barronās had a lot more information, but Iāve heard people complain that it contains to much useless info you donāt need, I liked that at least for the history subjects. In my case I felt Prin. Review was just to informal and focused the entire thing on theĀ āBig Ideasā for me it felt like everything was just really over simplified.Ā
Anyone have links to online prep books?
I saw a few posts going around that had links to free, online prep books. If anyone knows of those links/posts please tell me I'd really appreciateĀ it! I thought I liked them at the time, but i've been going through my likes and can't find the posts now :(
