Woke up at 3.30 am today, couldn't sleep anymore so I decided somewhen that it may be a good idea to do some math practice problems, but didn't want to get out of bed.
The last couple days have been a bit stressful with interviews and presentation/debate sessions for a scholarship application. I have one last interview today just before noon and then I guess we'll see, I have no idea how good/bad/interesting the things I said were.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Went to an organic chemistry SI session today. Might actually understand whatās going on in the class for once. Why does organic chemistry have to be so hard?
Today was a great day! So far, Iāve done four hours of mathārounding down, thatās 9 Pomodoros! (25 minutes each.) At 25 cents apiece, I get $2.25ābut wait, thereās more! I also finished a section of math, bringing my total to $2.50! And thatās just for now.
Iām still a bit embarrassed to be learning pre-calculus at 22, but Iām hoping that will go away. Yes, Iām behind where I hoped I would beābut the important thing is that Iām moving forward.
I started a list of things to buy with my budget:
1) A binder ā need this soon!
2) A good eraser ā the one on my pencil just isnāt cutting it.
3) Paperclips ā currently just stacking each set of papers in portrait then landscape mode, then repeat.
I did a section on solving algebraic inequalities (linear, quadratic and fractional). Although Iāve supposedly done pre-calculus before, I actually learned a lot! I took two pages of notes and did three pages worth of problems.
Here are my notes:
They arenāt great. Iāll try to do better tomorrowāgo a bit more slowly and write down every example, not just one in each section.
Hereās my first attempt at homework, which quickly got messy because I didnāt understand the material and had to erase a lot:
I started over and ended up with these three pages:
As you can see, I got a bit cramped with the last problem, but I didnāt want to start a new page just for one problem.
I worked really hard on making the homework as legible/comprehensive as possible. I didnāt skip any steps. I tried to write it as if I were taking a test, but the real advantage here is that if I need to read over them later, itāll be easy to understand.
I also started a separate sheet where I listed the mistakes I made. The two main ones:
1) At the beginning, I made many mistakes just from not understanding the material properly. I had to go back and look at the examples again to understand it better.
2) Then I started making many inattentive mistakes, mostly forgetting negative signs. I can probably solve this by taking breaks when Iām supposed to (ahem) and double-checking all negatives as I go.
Hereās what worked so well today:
1) I stuck to my routine. Breakfast, gym, shower. All very important stuff.
2) I had coffee for literally the first time in six years, folks. It was what I imagine Adderall feels like (Iām probably wrong about Adderall though.) It kept me wide awake and super productive. It also killed my appetite and made me a bit anxious, so Iām going to step down and just drink a strong tea tomorrow.
3) Iām excited! This studyblr stuff is exciting.
Iāll update later if I get more done, or tomorrow if I donāt!
