somehow only discovered hours ago that a museum in tokyo back in 2022 held an exhibition on pompeii, where goods such as large plushies and smaller pouches of the carbonised loaf.

i also saw too many people talk about how they wish they could get them but didn’t.

no twin…it’s possible

i found them.

by searching “ポムペイぬい”

(ignore every grammatical error, i only remember the phonetic based rules LMFAO)

the original website came up, however the website they used for online orders didn’t have the pompeii items available.

i did find the name of the item was “炭化したパンのクッション” and a search via mercari revealed one available seller of the pompeii bread plush

by shortening the term to some random bullshit like “炭化したパン” more results came up. mostly knives and that’s okay, but i also found several more sellers of the pompeii bread plush

Made bread based off the carbonised bread found at Pompeii (below) for my class studying Pompeii… wasn’t perfect but I’m proud of it.

On April 19th, I made bread

White flour with fresh thyme kneaded in, following Paul Hollywood's white bread recipe.

I like to make bread on the 19th April each year because it connects me to a long cultural line of bread making as tradition, as one of humanity's oldest traditions, as something that I've done with my hands and countless millions of other people have done before me and will do after me. It situates me in a long cultural current.
