let me lay it out ok i need your guys help
our system really struggles with wanting everything to be Theirs. the wardrobe and the room mostly. we don't share anything except what's necessary. so we decided we're going to have our gatekeeper set everything up for us so we have to stick to one particular decor and dress style to make it simple and so we are discouraged from buying more things we don't need or have room for. tldr he is making us all share
the style is monochrome, very simplistic and clean but not minimal. acubi on pinterest is very similar. the issue with that is that our littles, who as u know from our permakid posting are very important to us, don't like it and want a colorful room - which the adults also don't like. so we're stuck between letting the littles decor and fashion rule us, or locking them up in a grey black and white box of destimulation
what are some ways we can make this work for them? we don't want to just get kids stuff in black and white, we want them to be able to have color and cute clothes. but something important and crucial to us is that we have our kids stuff out on display, it makes us feel safe. but it would clash with the look of the rest of the room.
maybe a black and white toybox full of colorful toys? colorful clothes shut away in the closet? doesn't that defeat the idea of having things out and accessible? plz advice
