Ok wei wuxian and lan wangji were in qinghe (with wen Ning ofc) and they run into nie huaisang and they all go into a inn

“What a coincidence” says wei wuxian with a hint of suspicion

“Yes what a coincidence indeed wei gong zi”nie huaisang replies

(This is after the show so they know he is a genius)

Wen ning doesn’t talk as he feels very awkward next to nie huaisang whom he had a tiny crush on in the past (if you say they never met in the past and wen Ning did not know him shut the fuck up b!tch)

“Well”he thinks at least I’m not with lan wangji and wei wuxian again being next to them is worse”

“nie huaisang is pretty wait WHAT why did I think that oh frick I still have my feelings for him”

nie huaisang is just staring at him and wei wuxian catch’s on to why they met nie huaisang

“Oh well this is interesting should me and lan Zhan leave to leave them alone a while or not”wei Wuxian thought he quickly shared his suspicions with lan Wangji and he agreed that they should leave them alone

“Well me and lan Zhan are off to sleep if you want wen Ning you can stay with nie huaisang for now if you want”wei wuxian said with a wink in wen nings direction

wen Ning blushed at that comment it was awkward for a bit until they started talking and little did wen Ning and nie huaisang know they was being eavesdropped on by wangxian

“Remind me of us back then doesn’t it lan Zhan”

“Mn” lan zhan replied

hours pass by like minutes and it was dawn nie huaisang fell asleep on wen ning’s shoulder a little after midnight and wen Ning froze when he started snoring

(The next morning)

“Ahh! Sorry wen Ning” nie huaisang said the next morning covering his face with his fan

wen Ning smiled “it’s fine” he said

(Time skip of a few days)

wen Ning and nie huaisang get closer and wen Ning is planning to confess and nie Huaisang had the same idea wen Ning confided in wei wuxian and lan wangji of his idea and nie huaisang did the same

(One day later)

“Hey huaisang I have something to tell you” wen Ning said

“Oh god please don’t make him hate me for saying this” he thought

“Me as well wen Ning” nie huaisang said

“I have a crush on you”they said at the same time both blushing

not even a minute later they just start kissing and making out wangxian is just by the window watching this and cheering

The moment has come to share with you NieHuaisang who became a prisoner of war. Here's my next tale for MdzsRbb spelled in a painting.

By sheer chance, Wen Ning and Lan Sizhui cross paths with a traveling group that includes Nie Huaisang. While the latter is helping Lan Sizhui update his maps with some markers that have been changed by recent rough weather, there is a monster attack.

Through combined effort, it's put down fairly easily, though Wen Ning ends up with some battle damage from preventing an attempt to eat Sizhui. It's mostly just his clothing this time, fortunately.

While offering him some replacements, Nie Huaisang happens to see the previous repair work Wen Ning has been through and can't help being appalled at the obvious rush jobs they are, quick and dirty patch-ups that are frankly kind of terrible.

He tries not to say as much, but it's obvious in his expressions.

Interpreting Nie Huaisang's reaction as an attack on Wei-gongzi, Wen Ning brings out his Spiteful Bitch Mode, acridly reminding Nie Huaisang that some of those patch-ups were the undead Nie Mingjue's fault, and in any case, what would Nie Huaisang know about what a fierce corpse's repairs should look li-

And then it hits him.

Of course Nie Huaisang would know, because who in the entire world would he have actually trusted to put his brother back together? Of course he would care, because he had to do that with his own two hands.

But by the time the realization that he's just been a massive prick hits him, Nie Huaisang has already emotionally shut down and is leaving with his retinue and-

-and Wen Ning doesn't go after him.

Instead, he simply takes a worried Lan Sizhui and returns to the original path they'd been taking, guilt lingering at the back of his thoughts.

It's not until they cross paths again months later fully in Qinghe territory -after Wen Ning has had his arm ripped off by a thing practically made of nothing but long sharp teeth and he and Lan Sizhui both know it will be days at least before they can meet with Wei-gongzi to get him repaired- that he quietly sends a note asking Nie Huaisang for his sewing skills.

It's not exactly an apology, not the kind he feels like he owes, but it seems to be good enough for Nie Huaisang, who, after checking him over, sends one of his disciples back to the Unclean Realms for a very particular sewing kit and then goes out to the market for a few necessary things before sitting down to work.

It's eerily fascinating to watch.

He really is very good at this, almost as good as jiejie was at stitching up the living, but in a different, more embellished manner.

Nie Huaisang practically gives him a makeover with newer, softer, longer lasting stuffing to replace his usual straw and completely replacing all his older repair stitches with neater, cleaner stitching that's practically invisible in some places and artistically embroidered in others.

Wen Ning can't help but feel almost spoiled by the treatment, especially when Lan Sizhui marvels approvingly at some of the designs.

They never discuss the elephant in the room, though when they go their separate ways, it's much more amicably than before.
