You have to submit it. I, the mod, only write propaganda occasionally for the characters I know. Everything else is submission-based.
> How do I submit propaganda?
While submissions are open:
Select one of the tournaments under "Submissions Open" at the top of this post.
READ THE RULES OF THE TOURNAMENT (plain text: read the rules of the tournament /end pt)
Fill in the linked Google Form
Once submissions are closed, you can send additional propaganda via the ask box or by reblogging a poll. I do not use anything written in the tags, only the text of a post/reblog.
> What counts as "anti-propaganda"?
Basically, don't be a dick lol. Good-faith comparisons and whatnot are okay, but anything insulting toward a character or person is off-limits (this includes complaining about a character being included in a tournament since I find it extra annoying). This is not the place for fandom discourse #82739.
The safest bet is to only give reasons to vote FOR a character instead of attacking their opponent. Even if it's meant in a joking manner, I don't play with disrespect.
> Can I submit polls?
Yes! Technically, Tumblr doesn't allow submitting polls as far as I can tell on mobile, but if you drop your question, answer choices, and anything else into the ask or submission boxes, I'll set up & run the poll (for 1 week unless otherwise specified).
You can also suggest a poll here via Google Forms
> Can I suggest a tournament idea?
Yup. Google Form link here
The only 2 caveats are (1) that I may not run anything that makes me personally uncomfortable and (2) it usually takes a while to get to tournaments.
> Can I send you polls, submissions, events, tournaments, etc. to reblog?
Yes! There are some polls I won't reblog if they make me uncomfortable (pregnancy, for example), but otherwise, go ahead. Anything web novel-related that fits the cooperative spirit.
> If I submit a poll, tournament, event, etc. does it have to be about web novels specifically?
Nah.
> Can I submit fanart?
Yes, but you must show that you have permission from the original artist. Otherwise, official art only.
Preferably, I should be able to crop it into a 1:1 ratio so both images are centered.
> What are your tags?
General
not a poll, not a tournament, results, asks, events, web speaks
#mini polls - standalone polls not attached to a tournament
#themed polls - mini polls that are based on a theme (ex: “do you know this character”) but are not competing in a larger tournament with brackets (not tagged as mini polls)
#administrative polls - these are polls that are not part of the tournament itself; for example, "What tournament do you want to see next?" or "Should polls be kept open for 1 day or 1 week?”
Reblogs
other polls, other tournaments, propaganda
#morning rb - for when I make a post in the middle of the night & want it to actually be seen
#submissions rb - I’ve started periodically reblogging my submissions every once in a while (sometimes spread out, sometimes 1 per hour for 5-6 hours), so feel free to block this tag
#reminders - another tag you can block if you don’t want to see duplicate posts. Usually used when there’s 24 hours left on a poll. Deleted once the poll is over.
To Block
eye contact cw (Beware: I forget this one a lot)
pregnancy cw
blood cw, blood tw
suicide cw

> Who are ya? What are yer pronouns?
My main is @weepingfireflies, but I go by Mod Web on this blog. I'm aroace & agender/nonbinary & mainly use they/them pronouns.
I got into web novels via the MDZS donghua, but now, I mostly prefer stories with minimal romance or short romance novels (usually less than 50 chapters).
I actually have a WN reading list here, but it's. A little messy lol

That also reminds me of a post I saw a long time ago claiming that Shen Qingqiu was an outlier when it came to "OP protagonist" readers because he was comforted and relied on Luo Binghe never having something truly, truly bad happen to him (aka he always wins / gains the upper hand at the end), which. well. I think is actually incredibly common with people reading "OP" stories, and is not even confined to those types of stories. It's a fairly normal part of the escapist fantasy of having control over a story as compared to how unpredictable, unfair, and traumatizing real life can be. Characters usually aren't just needlessly killed by a car or a heart attack because the narrative catharsis is part of the fantasy.
In my opinion, "OP" characters are that level of control brought to the extreme. ONE character has all the control and the world bends around them to give them all the love, power, and belonging imaginable because they deserve it. They suffered and that suffering specifically made them strong and undefeatable and special and no one can compare/understand what they went through. They alone are responsible for and can solve everything themselves without needing anyone else. It's an incredibly individualistic and unhealthy way of viewing the world, but it's So Common. Like, my point is traumatized thinking is actually super prevalent & it's a core element of "OP" stories most of the time & I feel like it's ignored All the Time
that, and I feel that OP storylines are reflective of the trauma of the people who enjoy them. Many people who are traumatized are forced to do things on their own without outside help, either because there is no one left to rely on because their symptoms make them uncomfortable to be around at best, or because they've lost the ability to trust other people. The characters themselves (like solo leveling for example) often depict this very thing, and the exciting climax is becoming so strong he can protect the people that were hurt for merely being around him. They "earn" their social circle back by becoming the strongest ever.
OP storylines take that feeling of alienation (forced or voluntary) and go: let's pretend that doesn't suck for the duration of this story. What are the benefits of being the strongest person in the room, who's reliable and good at everything because they had to be?
I often see people calling these characters "unrealistic" and imo aside from their superpowers, lots of people do everything by themselves because they have to. This is just one romanticized viewing of that experience. It's not real. There's genuine problems, especially if you get hurt or something happens. But it's a comforting story nonetheless.

I do enjoy thinking about the differences between "I remember my past life, but the past is not me; that's someone else entirely" and "I remember my past life, but I'm still partly the same person as I was before (mixing of the souls)" and "I remember my past life/the other world, and that makes me completely different from who I was before" and "I have memories from both worlds, but I am NOT the original person, even if I have their memories" and "I have no memories of this new world but must live as the original, regardless." Each version has it's own interesting perspective whether memories affect identity, even as one changes from having them or not. So many isekai stories strictly differentiate between "the original goods" and the "transmigrator/reincarnator" but I think, in reality, the truth would be much more murkier and difficult to deal with.

Submissions
Ailette Rodeline from The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine / A Transmigrator’s Privilege
Roles: Reincarnator, Transmigrator
Bai Li from This Alpha Is Determined Despite Physical Disability
Submission: She saved herself and her new (very sweet and adorable) family and she’s doing her best to save Tesilid too and she kicks ass and is sooo cute and pretty and cares so much and I love her
Ariana Bronte from Noble in Name, Vulgar at Heart
Role: Regressor

Role: Transmigrator
Karen Heier from Resetting Lady
Submission: He's originally from our modern day and transmigrates to an interstellar novel as the side antagonist who marries one of the protagonists harem members after being matched by the societys AI. In the novel that relationship ends poorly, so he tries instead to treat him well so he won't suffer in a harem later. In his early career in the novel he also experiences an accident on the battlefield that cripples one of his legs and despite all his attempts to avoid it he suffers it anyway. Other things that are "supposed" to happen also happen but he still tries to work to avoid them even though he develops this paranoia or defeatism that maybe it doesn't matter. But then it Does matter, not just for himself but to everyone else he positively impacts his choices matter and they see that and try so hard to save him and prop him up and its such a sweet sentiment about working together for the greater good. Even if you can't benefit now others may benefit down the line so we have to work hard to improve things for them. Anyways I love Bai Li
Chung Myung from Return of the Mount Hua Sect/Return of the Blossoming Blade
Role: Reincarnator
Propaganda: He is an old man, only he can asy "back in my day..." and I won't be mad. He looks and acts like he's lazy and impulsive while in reality he's the complete opposite, he works harder than anyone, every decision he makes, every action he takes is calculated. Very lonely, is a menace, secretly very parental and sentimental. Has nightmares and hallucination, acholic, had major war trauma, protective of all his chicks. He calls a group of men in their 50s cute kids, not in a condescending way, he actually sees them as children he needs to protect
Cyrene from Honkai Star Rail
Role: Other (lives through millions of cycles of resetting the world along with phainon to save the universe, and then also eternally repeats these cycles in order to maintain the cause and effect of the past and future); Regressor in the sense that she does go through time cycles and ultimately goes back in time from the start but not entirely in a traditional regressing way
Submission 1: Cyrene is a character who has eternally bound herself to her home of amphoreus. Not only does she go through millions of cycles to prevent the destruction of the universe, when the threat is finally overcome she does not get to escape and instead binds herself to relive everything eternally, endlessly walking through the same events in order to maintain the cause and effect of what happened. She is someone who is so full of love, who has and will always remain a gentle person dedicated to her home.
Submission:
Cyrene, along with Phainon, went through millions of cycles to maintain the Eternal Recurrence to maintain Amphoreus and the universe's existence.
During the cycles, Cyrene acts as a witness who records the events of the cycle and thus allows for the continuation of the cycles.
At the end of the many cycles, Demiurge Cyrene returns to the beginning of the cycles to watch over everything as a god-like figure to ensure that the cycles are ultimately successful.

Role: Regressor
Submission: Love how she has totally been driven to madness by her many regressions and deaths. Cheering for her and whatever she does (definitely nothing bad don’t worry about it :)). She deserves to do whatever she wants lol.
Park Moondae from Debut or Die
Roles: Regressor, Transmigrator
No propaganda submitted
Thesilid from A Transmigrator's Privilege
Role: Regressor
Kim Huisu (Eun Chaerin) from Surviving Romance (살아남은 로맨스)
Submission: A tragic character who was given a quest to save the world from the Demon King. He regresses upon failure and keeps regressing until he finally succeeds, only to learn all of his suffering and sacrifice was meaningless as his regressions continues regardless of his efforts. Carries the world on his shoulders
Jesse Venetiaan (Jung Yeseo) from When the Third Wheel Strikes Back
Roles: Regressor, Returnee, Transmigrator
No propaganda submitted
Roles: Regressor, Returnee, Transmigrator
Submission:
Not exactly a "willing" regressor: she's stuck reliving the "confession" day of a schlocky school romance novel (which it turns out she's the amnesiac author of) except instead of the confession happening a sudden zombie apocalypse sweeps over the school! Basically she keeps reliving the day after each of her (many deaths) until she eventually decides to give up on forcing the canon happy ending to happen and instead focuses on trying to save her classmates -- all of whom were stereotypical bullies of the "sweet" protagonist -- so she first has to actually reach out to them and earn their trust. Also like, she really only gets her feet under her and starts succeeding when she decides to try to save someone who she has an actual connection with and doesn't just view as (a) a character and (b) a character who is supposed to save *her* helpless damsel of a transmigrated role at that. Like, no, Chaerin is going to be the hero thank you very much, lmao.
Anyways, It's a really beautiful exploration of reaching out for true connection when depressed, and also SO SO sapphic-coded <3. Anyways, Huisu/Chaerin is incredibly clever and tough (we love a manipulative badass queen), but also smart enough to know when to delegate -- ultimately her emotional growth and journey to letting other people in and realization that not only can she not do everything herself, but it's unfairly arrogant to try, is so beautiful. Anyways I love this suicidal disaster of a girl and honestly the sweetness of female friendship as the true power of love is amazing.

Lee Sungjin / Morres Klein from Children of the Holy Emperor
Yoo Joonghyuk (Yu Jungyeok) from Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint
Submission: He’s my silly son from my beloved underrated story and I love him. He gets transmigrated after death as a sort of package with the soul of the demon king he died fighting against. His siblings as Morres are all character archetype tropes and his dad is OP as hell and weird but also a good dad. Sungjin/Morres keeps getting into trouble through his own curiosity and being too heroic for his own good. He’s also kind of like a gym rat but he’s training for fighting and swordsmanship not just for gains lol, also he’s kinda simultaneously predisposed to fail but also a genius but I won’t elaborate on that further bc spoilers. He’s somehow really smart but also can be very much dense and dumb and he has a good heart. Also he was in his 60s when he died on Earth but as Morres he’s 15 and you can see him fall back into behaving like a child but he’s also still such an Old Man sometimes and it’s funny as hell.
Penelope Eckhart from Villains Are Destined to Die
Roles: Regressor, transmigrator

Phainon (Khaslana) from Honkai Star Rail
Role: Other (he along with cyrene force resets their world over and over in order to prevent the destruction of the universe); Regressor
Submission 1: He goes through 33 million plus cycles, all of it inflicted upon himself by himself along with his close and dear friend cyrene, in order to prevent the destruction of the universe. Each cycle lasts for thousands of years but he endures and never falters in the face of the heavy hand of fate.
Submission 2:
Went through millions of time cycles to prevent a lord ravager of destruction from finalizing and destroying the universe.
Matches the golden scapegoat archetype very well
During these cycles, Phainon becomes somewhat of an embodiment of destruction himself but nonetheless keeps the memories of his companions and their wishes to keep himself going.
Considered a Deliverer and a Worldbearer

Shin Cheongryeo (Shin Jaehyun) from Debut or Die
Role: Regressor
Submission:
- Once upon a time, he was someone who was rising up as an idol and full of passion for it. Then he woke up years in the past. Again. Again. Again and again and again. He's not as sane anymore but it's not affected his love for being an idol even a bit, in the end.
- He has an adorable dog named Kongie. Kongie deserves all the love. Vote for Cheongryeo, you'll make Kongie very happy.
- He got so used to regressing when a problem comes up that when he could no longer regress, he wanted Park Moondae to commit suicide so that time regresses, kidnapped him but still refused to kill him himself and went "please die".
- He's a crazy cuckoo but I love him, your honor.

Undertaker from I’m an Infinite Regressor But I’ve Got Stories to Tell
Role: Regressor
Submission: Fun mix of kind and empathetic at times and completely deranged at other times. Somehow has managed to stay relatively sane through 1183 rounds of failing to save the world, with some rounds lasting several years. Knows the importance of whimsy and mental health (learns to take a break around every 5 rounds and ignores saving the world to do whatever he wants like traveling from korea to mount hua to win over one crazy old guy).
Role: Regressor
Submission 1: I love him
Submission 2: I love him and he makes me want to explode (in the best way). He’s secretly so soft and think about him makes me want to cry and also wrap him in blankets. He also kicks sm ass and is so cool but also kinda dumb and silly sometimes. He’s a brilliant character with sm layers and I wish I could hug him forever and ever and ever.
